Belk was the genius who was supposed to be doing data analysis when in fact we completely ignored that approach for years, as witnessed by years of nonsensical transfer business. We're doing it now, but learning on the job, as we've seen with Madsen Celar etc. Should have actually been doing it for years, but we had Belk as 'head of data'. He was then promoted to head of recruitment. You really couldn't make it up. I'm absolutely amazed that he's still in situ. That's QPR in a nutshell. Wrong people doing important jobs. Wrong people employing the wrong people and an owner who puts his trust (and money) in the wrong people. It's ridiculous. It really just goes to show how most issues come down to recruitment, whether it's the players or the staff. Recruit the wrong staff and, like night follows day, the wrong players will be recruited. All roads, here again, lead right back to owners, because they recruit chairmen, and CEOs, who then recruit coaches, heads of player recruitment etc In the case of Belk he's one of the few remaining staff from the old regime, but will Nourry act on it... In the case of Nourry himself, most likely recruited by Hoos. In the case of Hoos, recruited by the owners Q.E.D. |
