All about opinions Timmy but Iroegbunam could probably do more on his own rather than Field, Dozzell and Colback have achieved playing together this season. Theres a compilation video of some of what he’s capable of here on his designated thread here on RFI. Attacking wise that's true. But do you find him much better than Bonner? Also bear in mind that Tim was sensationally poor defending. Hes far and away a better player than Bonner imo. Would disagree he was poor defensively. I only remember him being caught in possession trying to play out deep in our half few times but forgivable at his young age and just starting out in mens football, yet at other times clearly showed he had bags of natural talent to glide past challenges. Probably the best young player capable of both offensive and defensive MF duties I’ve ever seen playing for our club.

Anyway, if we get £6 million for Chair, it would be bad transfer policy to spend £4 million from it on Iroegbunam. So that transfer isn't very likely to take place.

My worry is spending that same £4m figure on 2 mis-fits like Dykes and Bonne again.

My worry is spending that same £4m figure on 2 mis-fits like Dykes and Bonne again. It will be a risk but we've left ourselves with no other options unless we go down the Chris Martin type route again. We need to throw the dice to give us a chance of staying up.

Having an effective striker(s) brings more than their goals. Other players are brought into the game by their movement and threat, plus confidence spreads through the team.

My question is are proven strikers like Macaulay Langstaff, Elliott Lee and Paul Mullin even on the club's radar?

Michael Olise at palace who everyone is raving about was born in Hammersmith. We have let some local talent escape our radar it’s clearly there, Saka is another one from Greenford, we don’t seem to be able to find it.
It’s got to be us and our scouting methods as Palace, Arsenal, West Ham, Millwall always finding and developing local talent where our plan seems to be to pick up the scraps when they release them.

They can clearly score in lower levels but that’s no guarantee they will higher up Ie Washington. As said on longstaff fact no one has tried sign him suggests there is something putting people off , possibly his pace? I would suggest signing lower league striker remains a risk but with our budget we’re unfortunately in the risk game as we can’t afford finished products.

They're more likely to be within our budget too. Therefore we really have no other alternative but to take a punt on these type of players, right? In the same way that the likes of Coventry, Luton, WBA, Leeds and Millwall successfully did last season for example i.e. promoted or up and around the play-offs.

Great points in those two posts Westy mate. The striker situation at the club is years of incompetence - how does Ramsey escape the pelters aimed at Les?

All league 2 or lower clubs to my knowledge and big difference in scoring at that level , some of them like Wrexham appear financially secure and wont sell unless it’s silly money offered. Where are all the Chris Martin has been types some are calling for, Clarke-Harris looks similarly immobile and yesterday rumoured to join Charlton.

Can’t see Shankland scoring in championship. Only ever played in Scottish leagues the only time we tried different level in Belgium he became a one in five striker.

The overseas market is where our best hope of buying a striker lies, if I could choose it wouldn’t be a 25 yr old + player from league 1 or 2 I would be forced into purchasing. If that’s not possible then it’s a couple of kids on loan from West Ham or Arsenal late in the window. Lewis Skelly at Arsenal looks a real talent.

The overseas market post Brexit is barely an option. They will have to be established internationals at some level for starters to get a work permit to join a Championship side. We're in the Domestic market.

These are the rules btw:
Players who have made a certain percentage of international appearances for the best-ranking national teams over a certain period of time will receive an automatic endorsement.
However, there is a secondary points-based scheme whereby a play is not awarded an ‘automatic’ endorsement. Under this scheme, the endorsement will be dependent on the following criteria: the quality of the league of the selling club; minutes played by the player; and the domestic league and continental cup progression of the club they played for at the end of last season.
Youth players (under the age of 21) have the opportunity to be assessed on youth-team specific criteria if they fail to meet their respective points pass marks.

Made by Vloggers or Home Office/solicitors? Your really a dis-believing type OldR, is it only Home office or Solicitor based info that will satisfy you? I posted a very detailed 45min video made by a recognised Blackburn Rovers fan somewhere on this forum, my quick search option couldn’t find it but here’s another video although much shorter.

Not disbelieving, per se, just place more trust in those who make the rules or are paid to understand them than kids in their Mum's basement to be honest.

I can’t wait to gloat with Stainrod if and when we buy a player in Jan window just because he’s always doom and gloom talking about FFP and we can’t afford transfers any more.
Now I can look forward to even more fun with you as well OldR if any incomings are from overseas😀

sell chair, bring in langstaff. thats who i'd hedge my bets on as you get players of his ilk only a few times a generation. those rickie lambert, jamie vardy, charlie austin and grant holt types. doesn't matter if they're playing sunday league or in the prem they know where the back of the net is and will always score yet are often overlooked.
if we're going down then go down gracefully. yes, try and stay up but more importantly look to next season. think who we want for next year regardless of the division and get rid of the ones we don't or sell the ones that we can't afford to hold onto.
chair is a great player who'd do much better in a better side. but we need the money more than we need him.
