Short memories guys! In pre-season and the start of the season when our form was mixed (due to injuries), many were bemoaning how much weaker we were having lost Barbet, Gray, Wallace, Odubajo, Ball, Marshall and Austin...and how they hadn't been adequately replaced...and that it had been a terrible mistake to release Warburton! as is the norm there are some huge over reactions How dare you!? That is outrageous.

I’m chuffed with beale think he has big potential he’s not perfect the way sone have been sucking him off but he has something about him. I agree he's not perfect. Nobody is. By his own admission he's still learning being that it's his first head coach job. And I like the fact he admits that and shows humility over it. It's also encouraging he seems to be learning all the time and improving. Interesting too that the players are still learning his methods and he says we're still a long way off playing to our full potential. All perfectly understandable given how new he is to the role; it's almost half a new team; and he's only now getting something close to a fully fit squad.

Fella needs some patients to grow and find himself in role. He’s doing just fine at the mo on and off the pitch. Seems a genuinely nice guy what you see is what you get.

Balogun and JCS are his signings so I can see why he'd rather play them too. Do personally think that's our best pairing, and that a back four does seem to suit us.
Good that he has other options too, be it Dickie or Dunne or playing a three.

If there was one thing I would criticise MB on it would be he’s too open at press conferences giving away too much info to opposing teams
Why did he go into so much depth regarding tactics after the Bristol City game, he did the same after the Stoke game..
More experienced managers would keep keep that info hidden imo.
It appears as if he needs to prove to people he’s a very good Coach.

Whaat? I think you and me both agreed our squad is stronger this season.... My memory is that when we kicked off almost everyone on here deemed we were short compared to last year. Plus we had injuries from the off. I think the truth is that now that Mick is beginning to prove himself the Warbs fanboy club are demanding promotion. Nothing less will satisfy them. Me, I'd take top half with youth coming through and keep everything firmly crossed. Just in case. I don't know about you Hal but to me Warbs team gave the biggest QPR-related joy in about 10 years. Will never forget last minute winners from Gray, Amos or Barbet. Compared to that my feelings this season have been lame so far but I'm sure it will grow if we are in top 3-4 come December, January or later. But will definitely stay weak if we are just a mere mid-table team. That's why I hope and wait some instant success from Beale. It's possible as we have played very well.

All coaches at our level should be analysing opposition games and set ups, and anyone who did that could read our game plan. Almost everyone in our division sets up with a 5 ball lost, they see us coming with a 4 and don't know what to do. Different story in the prem. I'm guessing that Mick's aim is for us to be tactically flexible on the park so that we can switch pretty much as and when, because that is where football is going. Klopp did it at Liverpool when Beale was there, ie 4-3-3 switching to three at the back ball won. One of the things I really hated under the last regime was months of sterile, predictable tactics. I think we got lucky last year, and found ourselves in a totally false position and got exposed. I'm under no illusions, I think there's a long way to go after years of poor decision making at board level, we have a coach who is finding his way, and there is more of an emphasis on youth. That's why I'd be happy top half this year. Anything more, lovely.

I understand that every club will study videos on tactics used by other teams Hal but MB openly explaining how for instance Stoke nullified our FBs getting out by playing long diagonal balls from their CBs can only be seen to be making it easy for any other club to follow suit and importantly add to it.I have the same thoughts about him explaining how and why our tactics were so successful around the BC game too.
The likes of Klopp and Pep never publicly talk tactics in their post match interviews win lose or draw.
Interestingly I don’t think the Sheff Utd manager has picked up we are completely different side now compared to being managed by Warburton, I watched his full press conference yesterday and he said other than improving their desire to win the ball back quickly it’s the same players.😎
It’s not just tactics either, for instance tonight I will be very surprised if we don’t play 3 CBs after MB pre match comments regarding changes and admitting somebody from Saturdays bench will be left behind due to Dickie being included.
Don’t get me wrong MB is like a breath of fresh air to the club and I’ve thought will probably be our best gaffer since Sexton imo.

For every game under Warburton that left me buzzing, there was 1 that left me bemoaning some of the tactics. I can see a lot more intelligence and strategy behind the way that Beale is approaching things. I can also see us steadily improving, which isn't something I typically ever felt that confident in Warburton to achieve.

Being honest, there were a handful of really good performances under Warburton but I always felt we would be just outside the play-offs at best.
That 4-0 tonking of Reading though was the pinnacle of Warbs and a real shame we went downhill after it.

I always thought Warburton flattered to deceive; too much waffle in his press conferences and a terrible lack of tactical flexibility on the pitch. He was good, in parts, but I never felt like he could maintain the level we achieved in our best performances, and so it proved. Beale, for me, is of a totally different order; I think he's the real deal. He doesn't just talk a good game, with admirable honesty and clarity, but he delivers on the pitch, both in terms of tactics and performances. Yes, he's still learning, so this makes me even more pleased with him, because if he's this good now, what can he achieve with us in the future? I'll be honest, i fucking love him!

I’m afraid I don’t subscribe to the view mid table is acceptable outcome for this season. If it was not good enough last season, then I’m unsure how it can be this season when we have kept every key player and replaced the players that have left with better replacements. The squad is stronger than last year with the same deficiency ie Striker so on that basis if we expected top six last year is it unreasonable to expect it this?? Manager’s experience is an irrelevance imo the questions is do you have the tools and the answer is yes. Great post. I hope someone can bring this up at the fans forum.

I believe he's being authentic by doing so, regardless of whether more experienced and successful managers choose to take a more guarded approach. On the one hand, maybe he will learn to do that less if/when he realises that oppo managers are using that against him. On the other hand, maybe it matters less as he's only revealing such in depth analysis after games, and crucially, not before them.

I think that's quite important too from a fans perspective Sparks. Countless times they get frustrated and on managers backs because they don't understand the reasoning behind their decisions. That can put a lot of pressure on managers and I think he's acutely aware of that, so wishes to be as transparent as he can without giving too much away. OTOH he admitted to being duplicitous with the media so as not reveal too much, for example with Dickie for the Bristol game. Another example is his transparency over Dykes - even though some wouldn't agree with his assessment, fans could at least understand his reasoning. Definitely a balancing act though over how much to say.

Let’s not forget, the way things look like going there will be a time when we will struggle to hold on to this guy. Every good interview is an advert for Mick Beale. We need to make the most of him and, as others have said, support him in January. If he gets us up and keeps us there for a second season he’ll get a top offer from somewhere.

He’s made a good start guys but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. No prem club will be coming in for him any time soon.
Plenty of managers with established records and reputations have not been picked up by prem clubs. Prem clubs look abroad not the championship.

Doesn’t need to be Prem, top offers will come from clubs wanting him to do the same for them. There’s a couple at the bottom end already who’d like someone to get them up.

I would guess if Gianni Van Bronkhorst falls out of favour at Glasgow Rangers then that would be a very realistic destination for MB.
MB has continued to give regular interviews about them since leaving, and has even been quoted as being interested albeit ‘one day’

Give him the tools in January Rangers to get us over the line!! his man management skills was the only thing i questioned as i thought he came across as the kind of guy who'd order a sprite zero on a night out, just shows what i know . the guy is just getting better every game and knows his stuff about game management. there does seem to be more of a togetherness with the team under beale, not that warbs didn't encourage it just that beale has taken it up a notch. our team is reminding me very much of rangers in gerrard's title winning season. we play a lot like them imo and have that absolute die hard hunger to put our bodies on the line and win games. so many of our players have improved, i think only dykes has failed to step up. the likes of dozzell for example used to make me a tad nervous but now i have near full confidence in him whenever he plays. chair is another one who got as much stick as he did praise and many of us, me included, were calling for him to be sold and the money to be reinvested. now though he's a close second to willock in his importance to the team as a whole. i'm trying not to get ahead of myself and am telling myself that top 10 would be good but we genuinely look like we can comfortably beat anyone in the league.

Let’s see, I personally can’t see it at this stage. It’s been 12 games there will be a patch of bad form, every manager has it, that’s when we will find out what he’s really made of.
I do think we have a good one but I’m going keep my feet on the ground as the the tail turns quickly in this game. Hero one minute zero the next Warnock with us example of it.

Villa forums largely saying stevie G is shit and has to go. I watched the Leeds Villa game and could not believe that Gerrard did not bring on Cameron Archer in place of a mis firing Ollie Watkins who missed a host of chances. Saw Gerrard make a side swipe comment to Villa fans regarding why Archer hadn’t been used due to being injured/only training once before the game. From a purely selfish point of view I hope Gerrard stays as the chances of getting Archer on loan in January May be realistic. Archer is a player I rate highly as an out and out goal scorer, the closest striker I’ve seen to Defoe imo.
