so can we start calling him a wart faced cunt now/
also, can we get back to hiring shit managers that no one wants........like les, can do without this constant stress of battling to keep hold of a manager.

Didn't go to Wolves because we were top of the league and bright future ahead with us. Has had a reality check after five winless games. He's going now as this may be his only chance to join a bigger club.

All possibly true Timmy but he will struggle to come out of this with any cred after making those statements only a few weeks ago.

All possibly true Timmy but he will struggle to come out of this with any cred after making those statements only a few weeks ago. Nobody other than QPR fans will remember mate! Yes the fans. And the players he gave assurances to; and their families; and all the staff and the owners. It’s a small industry. Would be very damaging PR-wise. People have long memories. He’d be remembered as a mercenary; and a hypocrite following a complete U-turn over his Wolves statement. He'd have to weigh all that up too, because currently his PR is very much intact.

After the Wolverhampton debacle, he should off course have cancelled the visit to Glasgow. Irony alert: Long Live naivety.

As someone else has said on here he keeps batting his eyes at other clubs. He could have closed this down in two minutes if he wasn't interested. If he doesn't go to this job he will go to another when its big enough. Never got the impression that he especially "got" QPR or felt for its traditions like Warbs did, it was just a tick on the cv on his way to something better.
He brings to mind this famous exchange:
George Bernard Shaw (1856-07-26 – 1950-11-02) was an Irish playwright, who received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1925.
Anecdotal dialogue GBS: Madam, would you sleep with me for a million pounds? Actress: My goodness, Well, I’d certainly think about it. GBS: Would you sleep with me for a pound? Actress: Certainly not! What kind of woman do you think I am?! GBS: Madam, we’ve already established that. Now we are haggling about the price.
I think we have already established what kind of man Mick Beale is.

I think he made that clear he was ambitious and was job hopping before he joined Stainrod.
I don’t see why he can’t behave like everybody else in football does.

Fair enough he one day wants to manage a bigger club but if you are acting this way after 20 odd games - half of which you have lost - I really struggle to retain much respect for the bloke. Do a job and prove yourself, then move on. Am sure Eddie Howe had more than one job offer when he was leading Bournemouth up through the leagues - that's a manager I respect.

Career suicide as they will not finish above Celtic for the next 2 seasons at least and he will be gone. Walking out after his speech following the Wolves saga will not show him in a very good light.

If he had been linked heavily with the job for a week, was odds on favourite for the job, had recently been a guest of the club, one he used to play for, I think he would have yes. You often refer to the gutter press - you said the same about the stories linking Beale to Wolves. But it turned out those reports were correct that there were discussions/ considerations - true, they jumped the gun in saying it was a done deal, but those stories certainly weren't made up as first suggested. Strongly suspect there is something similar here - or of course it would be denied, as no reason not to deny it.

I personally have no problem with that at all. To a certain degree we knew that when we recruited him, so no great surprise. And if he stays and gets QPR promoted in the process then happy days. What kind of a man he is, or is portrayed as, is really of secondary concern. To be dispassionate about it, QPR can potentially benefit just as much as Beale by him using us a stepping stone.

Strongly suspect there is something similar here - or of course it would be denied, as no reason not to deny it. Yellow sensationalist 'journalism' is why they jumped in saying Wolves was a done deal; when in fact it was bollocks and they got it totally wrong. So I think the gutter press tag is appropriate as it gives good journalism a bad name. UK being one of worst countries in the world for it. if he leaves, big if, after 21 games how have we benefited? Big if, as you say, but we clearly won't have in any tangible way. Although we're getting into hypotheticals again. OTOH if he's all he's cracked up to be as a coach, and why he's so sought after by big clubs like Wolves and now G Rangers, then you'd have thought getting a talent-ladened top 7 Championship club promoted (or even into playoffs) shouldn't be too beyond his capabilities.
