He and Cook - what a partnership How long's it been since we had a pairing this good? It's seems strange to ask such a question considering our position but it's a fair one. Gorks and Connolly? Or too soon to make that comparison?

Probably not but I'd say Onuoha and Dunne is a fair shout by Westy. Think Cook & JCS can surpass the latter if they continue like this.

Think me and Westy were in a minority when we championed Nedum - the not so silent silent skipper. Had a mistake in him sure, but never let us down. The first time in a match that he met opposing star man was always an event😁

How great it is to be proved wrong about a player. Him alongside Stevie Cook have been brilliant as a pair and both have been outstanding individually in different ways. My 2 votes up to now for player of the season and in JCS we have a defender of real quality and him being fit and in the team playing has been massive. Yet another player who has been tdansformed by our own Guardiola.

He is a brilliant defender.
One of the more honest things the Eel said when he said he'll be one of the best defenders in the league.

Sheer class. That dispossession second half was like Moore. He never has a bad game. And, properly managed, is a stand out star.

i know gaz was awful here but one thing i do feel he deserves a bit of credit for is improving our fitness team as that's one area that gaz always put a lot of effort into at wycombe.

He's decent, but not quite as good as some of you are making out. He misplaces passes occasionally and sometimes dallies on the ball too long and creates unneccessary problems. But there's no denying that alongside Steve Cook, he's formed one of the best defensive partnerships in the division.
For some reason nearly all of our players still seem to lack focus in games, especially in the first half, and JCS is no exception. Yesterday it took that brum goal to sharpen us up.

Rolls Royce of defender when fit. Partnership with cook works so well.
There was a time second half when stansfield was through on goal Salter was couple yards behind him and he just ate up the ground nudged him off the ball as if to say fuck off this ball is mine and brought ball forwards.
Fantastic player

For me, one of best centre backs in the league. I do think there’s quite of lot of people that need to take back a few things said about him. He was injured. End of. He wasn’t not playing because he couldn’t be bothered. Too readily we attack personality of some of our players. Yes, someone like Roberts and Richards. But JCS doesn’t fall into that category.

Never a Richards. But he was clearly unhappy under Gareth. Clearly, Marti has him firing in all cylinders. It's why the club need to be upfront about injuries.

But JCS doesn’t fall into that category. i remember seeing JCS brother on twitter a few games into the season going ballistic at some fans for ripping on JCS as a lazy mercenary. i didnt think JCS was a mercenary then and don't think he is now regardless of how frustrating his injuries were for 12 months+. guy is fucking class and consistent at the back and is my personal POTY simply for how he's turned it around, remained consistent and revitalised our back line. if his injuries are behind him then we either have one of the best CBs in the league or someone we can sell for a tidy sum. one thing is certain for me though and that's that we'd be in the relegation zone without him.

Yes, someone like Roberts and Richards. But JCS doesn’t fall into that category. But to be fair to us it did look very much like he did at the time. Not many wanted to believe Beale’s inferred criticism of the way we cared for players but look how we keep them fit now. JCS is a perfect example.

But to be fair to JCS, he wasn’t exactly Yoann Barbet up to that point. He is clearly a class player but had his injury issues…..hence we could sign him. He got injured a few times but when he played he looked good. A player might be injury prone but doesn’t mean he “doesn’t fancy it” etc and all the other stuff that got said about him. Hes got fit and look at him now. I also take issue with the Ainsworth and Holloway motivation bullshit. That works for a Jimmy Dunne but I’d say he doesn’t need motivating. I like Jimmy Dunne but I don’t think you want 11 of them. Different players need different methods of motivation. Marti seems to know that and has delivered.

Surely either Cook or Dunne for POTY? Cook, for me, because he has been so consistent and so reliable, the rock of our defence. JCS has also proved to be a class defender at this level. Incredible turnaround from how we were under the last bloke.
