It's interesting that both Paal and Clarke-Salter are left footed. Must have also been an area that needed strengthening.
Primarily a LB but Paal can play in MF too or on the wing, so good options.

Hope he works. Can't overstate what a key position this is for us as we look a different team when an on-form, fit left wing back is doubling up with Chair down that side. A good wing back in the modern game can transform a team, as Forest showed. But at the risk of sounding negative I am going to keep hold of the bunting till I see him play a few games. We have had a few players in that position who have looked the part but for whatever reason haven't consistently delivered.

From Beale's interview with The Sportsman: - Paal and Clarke both turned down better financial offers to come to QPR
- QPR have been scouting Paal for the past 2 years
- Glasgow Rangers tried and failed to sign him 2 years ago

What was the issue in the second half Defence poor or midfield poor or both ? Entirely midfield. Sat back, let them dictate play, run the show and keep possession. That and woeful full back play. Below Paar didn't acquit himself well. And that tattooed mannikin dummy up front offered no out, being incapable of holding the ball. Seriously, what game were you watching? Thought Paal did well. Nothing really beat him. It was Kakay that kept getting beaten. |

From what I’ve seen of Paal reminds me very much of Gino Padula. He positioning was always all at sea but he had great recovery and used to slide and block the crosses coming in which made him look fab. Suppose Paal of same ilk, if they were perfect they would not be at ours
Hopefully he learns quick

I thought he did ok tacKling and speed wise , positional play needs to be worked on as the Boro bloke on his side was a good player and he had acres of space

Had his his hands full second half as Boro pushed Crooks up top n targeted paal with the high ball,and done ok considering the height difference. Once he gets used to the champ,think he will be a decent player for us.
