To add more context, I can't stand the new strategy from Sky sports to flood us with Youtube clowns who now all appear to be football experts. I used to have Sky sports on in my house in the background 24/7 - I look now once, maybe twice a day for news then turn off. thogdan and football daily. total tools. football daily are way too over the top and mention every stat avaliable in their videos. the only football youtuber who i think could do a good job on TV is stunt pegg, her videos are great, she's informative, has a good personality and i have a crush on her even though she's not conventionally pretty. |

Agree with above Stan. Like most people I don't care if the pundit is black, white, green, male, female etc as long as they know what the fuck they're talking about! In simple terms, I see it like this as an example. Michael Owen. One of the best strikers of his generation. Can't stand him as a pundit. Awful. Reshman Choudry the woman on Talk Sport I think is brilliant, insightful and knowledgeable. Danny Murphy bores the tits off of me. Gabby Logan asks brilliant questions, doesn't over egg things and again has the knowledge and charisma to keep me watching. It's when I see these stupid birds who either talk out their arse, have no clue what they're talking about or are clearly only there for a box tick is when I say not for me. Which really is all Barton is saying, if you're willing to hear him out (and able to separate his personality from that). And like the rest of us, he praises some female commentators too where it's due, regardless of the sport. |

If you're good enough and command respect with your opinion no one with a brain cares what colour, gender or creed you are. It really is that simple. Personally dont think Barton has shown the balance from what I’ve read for his initial posts. He’s gone in saying females who have not played top level football should not work in male game. I’ve not seen him offer up examples of males who are shit as Jimmy did as the balance.
He might have refined his views after the fallout but that was not his position at the start.

Jacqui Oatley was a fairly regular expert commentator on Premier League fotball for Norwegian TV 2 some years ago. She was quite knowledgeable and very sympathetic imo.
