I don’t think many sides in This league would have coped with that 45mins Same vs Boro 1st half. Totally unplayable. Great to watch and huge kudos to Beale for it. Even at this early stage he definitely looks an upgrade on Warburton IMO. In Fairness to Warburton we had patches under him when we tore sides apart. Difference between the two will be if Beale can sustain the results! Time will tell So far for every borough or hull at home there has been a Blackpool or Rotherham. Need find a level of consistency.

Was hugely critical of Chair early doors but tonight can only lavish praise on him and thought he was outstanding and arguably his best game I have seen for us topped of with a fabulous goal. Fair play to the lad for turming it around.

Agreed Westy, but actually think he's building a stronger squad than Warbs, and my impression is he's tactically more savvy too. His ideas finally look like they're getting through to the players, and I'm excited about Taylor Richards returning too which will make us even stronger. Yes, time will tell but the signs look encouraging.

Two good fullbacks make a world of difference. They sure do. And in Paal and Laird, I think we've got a couple of superb players on our hands. Watch as the confidence grows and players begin to express themselves with flair, whilst still maintaining the discipline Beale demands. I've got to say, I really like Mick Beale, he's got big balls!!

Yes and the spine of the team was assembled by Warburton - tho in fairness the two full backs Beale brought in are getting better and better. I also like the way Beale is encouraging possession but with purpose. Much as I'm a Warbs fan it used to really frustrate me watching Stef and Field fannying about with the centre halves passing it in our own halves without even looking up to see what was on. Not all the balls forward are coming off but we are trying. I also like the pressing - put Hull under so much pressure it forced them into mistakes and means we are doing our defending in their half. Chair was great at it tonight and so was Stef and even Dykes at times. Last season we made it so easy for teams to play out from the back.

Having the option to bring Roberts on for Chris Willock. Feels good.

Roberts, Laird, Paal... (and more to come). Aren't these looking like superb business now.
And the transformation of Dozzell and Johansen over the last few games.
The Beale effect.

Johansen was outstanding in the first half and did well for the third goal.

Two good fullbacks make a world of difference. Both have been criticized of late, especially Paal, but both were excellent on Saturday and again tonight.

Apart from a short purple patch when Austin first arrived has he had any confidence in all the time he’s been here? Are we confusing confidence and ability? This indeed is the question, and subject of great debate! 😂 I’m not confused - I think he’s pony.

Looks like quite an open league so far (perhaps more than last season). And on our day it seems we're a match for anyone, which again looks encouraging by comparison to much of the early season predictions.

Similar to last season when Forest and Sheff Utd took a while to climb. Some fancied sides nowhere at the moment.

I think we are looking stronger than last season, playing better football and can dominate a side.

Agree but we have to stop pissing about at the back, Dieng, Dickie and Dunne take risks when there are times to just launch it. Great to watch us move the ball forward through the team. And we’ve got some pace too.

Thoroughly enjoyed last night. Really good performance for the most part.
Not read the other comments in this thread yet so apologies if repeating what others have said, but for me a huge positive for us is having 2 decent attacking full backs. Paal has really grown on me last 2 games (wasn't sure at all after Rotherham game), and Laird looks a proper athlete - very tidy player.
Chair has been in his groove the last couple of games which, again, makes a world of difference. Willock needs no praising, the boy is a special talent. Defence still has its odd moments but I'm not going to be overly critical, over the moon coming out the ground last night - Saturday can't come soon enough.
COYRs!

Very rarely we get near pure quality like yesterday.

We can take glee at last night, but Hull are not very good. Set up wrong , play out from back without talent to do so. Their manager as much to blame for our 3 pts

That high line our defence is playing looks dangerous, better teams will take more advantage.

Their manager as much to blame for our 3 pts They've had a good start to the season and have a goal threat, but had a lot of players out injured yesterday. Beale tactically outwitted Arveladze basically. We play quite narrow and move it quickly through the transitions. They simply couldn't cope with that.

MB made some clever subs at the correct time to see out the game reasonably comfortably.

That high line our defence is playing looks dangerous, better teams will take more advantage. i thought their number 19 would as he looked pacey. i think the high line should work well for us more often than not as paal and laird both have pace, only problem is they're normally so far up the pitch lol. i suspect it will be less of a problem when JCS is back given he's also a bit rapid. the dunne and dickie combo is very good but i think my toddler could outrun them tbh.
