I see people raving about Colback and Cook - on LFW especially - which is absolutely fair enough - but Chair was MOTM today for me. Never stopped running, scored one and made one. That is pretty impressive.

Bang on Hubble - the (alleged) little rock thrower is one of those players the fan base are quick to criticise but forgetful to praise, which given his commitment and contribution to this club is criminal

I can't remember a player who puts in such running. And at speed.

Had a really good game and appears to be less greedy under Marti.

I can't remember a player who puts in such running. And at speed. Doesn't stop doesn't he, always seems to be full of beans still after 90mins n all ffs. But yea agree with the sentiments above, very good performance. We are such a better side with Ilias in it (evident from how pathetic / clueless going forward we seem without him).

He was excellent but big difference for me was Cook. Interesting that neither Field or Colback got booked Saturday. I guess it helps knowing you have someone solid behind you and not having to take one for the team! I felt sorry for Dunn as the Watford game was his best this season but I was pleased to see Cook named.

Equally i finally have to admit Chair actually produces very little considering how much of the game he is on the ball. It’s half the reason no one has come in for him. Showed more promise until he was given the number 10 shirt. Since then he has not progressed as a player: - Still far too right-footed (making him predictable and easy to defend against)
- Doesn't look up enough
- Doesn't release it early enough (thereby slowing the game down and allowing oppo to get back into position)
So you're right, his undoubted talent notwithstanding, this is why no club has bought him

Given his technical ability, it's shocking how crap set-piece taker he is.

Given his technical ability, it's shocking how crap set-piece taker he is. he's terrible on corners. as for free kicks he's scored what, 3 for us? and one of those was when he lobbed the middlesbrough keeper last season from near the halfway line.

Hodge can play in Chair`s position ideally, but I`m not sure he will cope with the pressure ...

Does not turn up for big games and does not affect them in a way where he is the standout difference. Not good enough to play every minute and for a team to be built around him. Look back over the past 15 years and see the number 10's we had who did turn up and do it for us when needed.

Still one of our better players which probably tells it's own story of why we're so shit.
Id be happy to get a few 3m for him and move on from him tbh.
Fed up of this fucking lot.

He's become so predictable , slows down the play , tries beating one player too many ... But still probably our best player .

What winds me up is when he beats man but instead of delivering he lets him recover then beats him again then a third time before passing it back to Paal. You beat him deliver the ball hard work is done.

Marti needs to tell Chair how to become more of team player. Anyway, for what I know, it`s what he does every day.

You beat him deliver the ball hard work is done. He continually cuts back instead of crossing it because he doesn't trust his left foot enough (because he's not worked hard enough to improve it). In which case play him on the right if you have to.

He knows better than any fan whether he can trust it. Some players in our team have one foot, others (like Field) don't seem capable of using either to pass the ball. So accept that is the limitation and change how you use him. I agree - play him out on the right - baffling to me why we hardly ever do that. Only thing in your post is that he doesn't work hard enough to improve it. We all have stuff we just aren't good at (in my case its a long list). One thing Chair can't be accused of is lack of effort - look at the shift he put in at Blackburn.

I meant that, as it's his actual trade, I question if it's something he even works on in training. Agree with everything else you say.

Also noticed that he made more passes to pal today, than he has all season combined. Keep that up and stop being a greedy bollocks, then we will be fine.
