Critchley is actually a safer bet than Beale as he’s actually managed a team and got them promoted from league 1 and then done well with an unfancied team in the Championship. He’s pretty young in mid 40s. And he’s available. A lot to like.
I’ve always liked Mark Robins but imagine he would be expensive to get from Coventry and would he leave.

We won though and they didn't do very well last season. Drew 1-1 up there and they really took it to us and played on the front foot Ok, maybe I remembered their home fans singing throughout the game and not getting what they wanted. Sorry.

Dyche Bielsa Hassenhuttl
Make a statement / show some ambition / Go back to the premier league.
Wont happen though as we are being bred as a championship project only.

Why could the sale of one player not finance the recruitment of a good proven manager

Bielsa would be my first choice. Why don't you suggest Knutsen? Doesn't he want to manage abroad or what's the inside info? Has done similarly in Norway as Potter did in Sweden.

There you go, have a read. Got a good rep for developing young players and apparently (read it somewhere) likes QPR. The reason I like him is that he seems a solid choice, but of course he's contracted to Oxford Utd, so would be another case of manager poaching.
Truth be told, I have no idea who we should get really, who does? Most of us thought Mick Eel was a great appointment (yeah, not you Westy! - and a couple of others), so it just shows that you never can tell, especially in football. Dyche would be amazing, but he's simply not going to come here. So we have to look at who is going to be a good fit, given all the circumstances we are aware of, FFP being the main one. Why we can't seem to shake FFP when other teams seem to go on crazy spending sprees and get away with it, I don't know, but at the same time, I think the careful, pragmatic, taking time to build the squad, is the right approach.

Neil Critchley odds on favourite. Anyone know anything about him? Was Blackpool gaffer last year and, IIRC, had them playing some really good football. I am sure before that he was involved in the Liverpool youth set up (so I guess not a dissimilar background to Beale). Ironically he left Blackpool to take Beale's position as Gerrard's assistant lol Tbf from the very limited amount I know about him I think I would be quite happy with him if he is appointed. Although didn't Villa's fall (which led to the sacking of Gerrard) follow Beale's departure?

We missing a trick, we don’t need polls, we don’t need agent’s. We should do what civilisations of yonder have done when a problem arose. Yes seek the ancients. Now I could name them but apparently there more fucking dinosaurs on here than Jurassic park. Just ask and they shall show the way.

Want another Beale like vanity project?
Then there's only one choice. The Captain. Sad to see he's still at the back of the field vote wise.
ps Kolo T gone to Wigan.

Critchley sounds nailed on and I'd be happy with that. Only reservation (and it is minor) is he left Blackpool when Gerrard came knocking for an assistant...could well be a case of Deja Vu if Gerrard gets another PL job.
Voted Wilder as I just think he's got a point to prove after Middlesbrough
