Not convinced but I really hope he does well.
Club acted quickly so we'll soon see if that is good or bad.

Wish you the very best of luck as working with Ferdinand and Hoos you are going to need it. I am interested in who will declare them self fit for the new boss.

i can see him being a success. we have good albeit weak minded players here but i reckon gareth will turn them around and get us rocking again.
very happy with the appointment, lets hope it works out, can't wait for saturday as win lose or draw it feels a bit different this time.
the board has already slain les, ollie and bircham so lets hope that gareth isn't the next one fed to us lol

Maybe we are finally admitting that we don't have many young players worth developing? Maybe so. What then is the strategy? Hoos says we can't spend any money because of FFP. So just struggle to survive in this league playing agricultural football with any ageing journeyman we can pick up on a free? I was a big advocate of the system we were trying to put in place (just wanted a better DoF to oversee it). But if we can't develop players we might as well sack off all the development staff and DoF and just go back to having an old fashioned manager giving it large. Seems a completely backwards step to me but no business can pursue two diametrically opposed strategies and expect either to work. Stains. After 12 years you must know nothing this lot do makes sense. Cannot see the link from MW through to Ainsworth in playing style. Another 3.5 year deal to a bloke who is more likely to be sacked during that time than not. The DOF and recruitment team need to be moved on swiftly.

Bircham and holloway tribute act That at least is a positive about the season ticket holder. One of the things that frustrated me about Critchley was he came into the job apparently not having watched back videos so made such basic mistakes as playing 4-4-2 which anyone on here could have told him we don't have the players for. Hopefully if this guy has been watching us he will have some idea of where we have fucked up.

Tbh I think he will galvanise and stabilise the club in the current situation
His first interview is impressive and he really wants this challenge
Now the owners need to start performing and give him some backing

Listening to his first interview, man-management-wise he'll certainly be an improvement on Critchley, with a personality far more likely to inspire and galvanise the players.
Tactically could be a different story and will be interesting to observe his approach on that front.

Well this video sets out what the ask of him is this season. In his own words ‘keep the club up’
I’m warning to the idea of Ainsworth from the bits which have come out on media today. It might actually work!

Having just watched his interview on YouTube, I can't help but feel a little excited. No matter what happens, guys we have to get behind him the same way we got behind him when he was a player, whether you think it's a bad appointment or not. I've no doubt in my mind that at the very least he will light a fire in the bellies of these players, and if it doesn't work and we go down, I actually think we go down fighting with Gaz at the helm. He's a legend. Let's keep it that way.

I hope he has a bit of the Eileen Drewery about, Where he can convince all these soft centred sicknotes that they are no longer injured. I wish him the best of luck and hope he identifies who to move on this summer as we need proper players next season and beyond. He is one guy who I hope does really well and he should look to bring Kevin Gallen in to work with the forwards and give them a lift.
