There is a hell of a lot of pre-judging gonig on here, why not give the bloke the chance before you write him off. Jeez. Have deliberately focused on his career to date

He is not going to be blessed with the players at his disposal tomorrow unless the regulars in the treatment room suddenly recover. Hopefully we do go direct as no point any other way when we have Martin up top. Drop Dozzell and get legs in the middle of the park to protect this defence. Runners off Martin if Roberts or Chair can be arsed to make the runs around the big fella

Will reserve judgment until 15 games. Are there that many games left? Might as well give him the rest of the season no?

What would really test the fans - and owners - is if Ainsworth gets a reaction from the team. Passion, graft, real desire… but we still go down.
How much support would he have then?
I think the board will have factored that in and would stick with him, as I think would most fans.
The supreme irony would be us getting related and Wycombe getting promoted.
That said, I think we’ll survive fairly comfortably.

If we go down but go down fighting the way we expect a Gareth Ainsworth side to fight, he absolutely should be given the chance to stay, build his own team and get us back up again. No question.

Excited for today! Main thing is get behind the team! No moaning and groaning if things don't go great.
This team is damaged and will take a little time but passion from our new gaffer will not be in short supply!
2-0 Rangers

They’re already using him as a bloody mascot every item out from club is Gareth giving interview or something. Fine line here between good feel factor and building unnecessary additional pressure and expectation.
Leave the fella alone and let him do his job and manage give him a chance.

I reckon you are being very generous including Scowen and Ibe there Corbs. Mehmeti is the one though - and he gives lie to the notion that WW were just direct and basic under Ainsworth. As has been said he played to his squad’s strengths and Mehmeti played football. The fans are gutted Mehmeti left. He would have been perfect for us but he’s ended up at Bristol. Mehmeti is obvs a good example, but even he is not exactly Eze. Not a lot to show for 11 years. If Josh Scowen is one of GA's star proteges think that supports my point: Ainsworth's skill has been getting a lot out of some very limited, agricultural individuals and punching above their weight as a collective. Scowen is now back at Wycombe, which is probably his level, remember we thought Dom Ball was an upgrade. That approach by GA might get you survival in the Championship, which is obvs the aim for this season. But is that now the ambition moving forwards as well? Just out of interest, how many players have we sold for a profit in the last 11 years?

Will reserve judgment until 15 games. previous manager never got that many games Previous manager ended up being statistically the worst manager in our 140 odd year history…… the absolute worst. 8.2% win rate. We can excuse ourselves for calling for his head 1 or 2 games earlier. The fella should stick to preforming illusions on stage and make his magic wand disappear….. up his arse.

Recently, furlong, freeman, eze. Should have been manning and BOS. About it I think Not much better than GA then, bet he spent less to do it though 😁 The point is we need to develop players to survive. We haven't been great at it. But any manager has to be able to improve that. The fact that we have been almost as shit at it as Wycombe doesn't get us that far...

About it I think we should have sold one or two of our core players at the start of the season too imo. its not ideal but we knew we had areas that needed improving. for a club that speaks so much about the long term picture we do always think in the short term. someone like chair or willock could have easily gone for 10-15m each in the summer but we'd be lucky to get half of that now.
