So the nominations are all in. 27 in total!
Said I'd leave it a few days but thanks to the overwhelming 24 hour response I’ve put the poll up early.
A couple of names were removed as they weren't actually strikers.
As mentioned earlier, to keep it fair think several factors need taking into account. i.e. overall contribution to team, appearances, work rate, goals (obviously) etc.
So who wins this coveted crown?

Problem is that to do this data wise we need like for like stats on some of the erm older contenders and the data just wasn't around in the same way. Also have to factor in how shite we were when the 'striker' in question was pulling on the shirt. It has to be done on a fun basis really, thats how come Maiga - who as someone said earlier literally looked like he'd turned up to the wrong job - is loved by WHU fans. Because he scored vs THFC. |

His stats says he scored 6 in 65 thats about 1 in 11. Poor stats but still better than Leon Clarke 0 in 16 (1 assist) or Angell 0 in 13 (0 assists). Going on stats alone those two are worst. |

After yesterday I’ve changed my selection to Dykes - yet again we saw a soft header straight at keeper and his inability to get one of his feet through the ball inside the six yard box. This guy doesn’t have the timing, technique, talent nor the awareness to be a striker.

Lowe is up there with the worst I`ve seen. Dykes is way better than Lowe, Imo. Lowe doesn't even try or bother turning up at all. Sinclair Armstrong with less ability perhaps should actually be his role model. The latter gives it a try and makes things happen at least.

Lowe's only been here a few weeks, it's far too early to make that kind of judgement IMHO. Dykes has been here what feels like 10 years, scoring approximately a goal every six months.

Agree with all the Dykes sentiments, when he scuffed that shot from about 4 yards out I could only laugh as it's classic Dykes. What makes me laugh even more is that he's actually our joint top scorer this season, which is a damning indictment for the rest of the sorry bunch of losers that make up our squad.

I'm posting the following response in the interests of semantic and phatic clarity* although I feel that that is possibly a bit of a stretch, given the context. Nevertheless, I shall attempt to outline the issue below:
I think I am right that it's too early to judge, so you don't need to 'hope' that that's true, Shania. However, I don't think that's what you mean. What I think you mean is that you hope I'm right that he turns out better than you think, but since I haven't made a comment on how good - or bad - he is, your response doesn't actually make sense.
Okay, I'm glad I've cleared that up.
