Disco, I'm afraid Please Sir! and One Summer totally passed me by so didn't resonate with these cultural references. The Six Million Dollar Man and The Likely Lads were more my influences in those days. Great post though, as ever! Cheers Stan!, i just always remember Frankie Abbott acting the hardnut yet quivering in his long shorts and hiding behind his Old mum when it got on top. I think she always called him 'Mummys little soldier'. I'm more of a 'Minder, the Terry McCann Years', sort of bloke. I'm Obsessed with it!. ;-)

Denis Waterman was an underrated vocalist imo. R.I.P. Your new sig I definitely resonate with though 😉

Bad tempered game 2 red cards but I hope a 2-1 win with a nervous final 5 mins plus injury time as always.

I detect irony but I can't do irony post Blackpool. They are professionals, well paid ones. If they were emotionally drained after putting one single 90m shift for the first time in ages they shouldn't be in this job at all.FWIW it wouldn't surprise me if they did consent to turn up vs Brum but they should be doing that anyway. As a matter of course. No, there was no irony in my post, Hal. That wasn't just a 90+ minute shift - that was one humungous turnaround from months of abject negativity. The players had completely lost direction after the Eel's departure and confidence had plummeted; the results speak for themselves. For Ainsworth to turn it around in a couple of weeks was a near miracle, and the effort the players put in to achieve that win over Watford was exceptional, in the circumstances. The level of intensity it required clearly took it's toll. These are human beings, we're talking about after all, not automatons. That's why I think no matter what team or formation Ainsworth palyed v Blackpool, it was just too soon. However now is a chance to steady the ship again. They know what it takes to win at home again, it is achievable.
Gonna have to agree to disagree on this Hubs. They aint automatons but they are allegedly professionals. Beale left a long time ago, and they downed tools under Critch. I can't have any more excuses. I do agree they could get a result today if they can be arsed and don't roll over like little bitches if Brum stick it up em first. Like they did at Blackpool. I'm pretty sure Thing will have spoken to them along similar lines.....

Just noted Keith Stroud is the ref, I'd rather have Gurnam singh or Bob Valentine in place of that Colostomy Bag. Fk me, i'd even Take Bill Lovelady over stroud.

It's clearly a mentality issue, and I think our lot are very fragile, with the exception of Johansen and Martin. Think the rest will down tools at the first sign of adversity. If GA can change the psychology of this squad it will be a massive achievement, but I think most of them need help from a professional shrink.

Strange team selection that imo Very weak midfield Is it wing backs or what Agree no legs Tim needs to step up big time. Amos can be good let's hope so. Field will have his hands full if the two above don't show up especially Tim I. Which will lead to pressure on our wobbly defence.

I thought we'd learned our lesson and only went for the 'right sorts'. Screw a defence coach they need interviewing skills!

Bu choosing that midfield immediatly Puts massive oressure on our defence
Have we learnt nothing from last week
Amos who knows Tim if he feels like it Kakay again who knows Adomah Knacked
Its a joke we are asking for trouble
Should be Field and Johason
Protect the defence

But i am not happy with that midfield
Zero leaders or strength in that
Div 1 selection sorry

Big game for Amos. Time for him to shit or get off the pot.

Johansen must be injured and they put him on the bench hoping we can do without him. Trouble is, by the time they’ve decided we can’t it’s too late and all he’s likely to do is aggravate whatever is wrong with him.

Looking at that team I think I’ll revise my optimistic prediction of 4-1 backlash. I’ll keep the same scoreline.
