Interesting. Worth bearing in mind that left back isn't actually Paal's preferred position. Might be the opportunity to accommodate both in the side if they're both playing well. |

seems like a good signing. my barnsley supporting colleague thought he was very good last year in league 1.
certainly has a good background too and will hopefully compete with paal on the left.
plus a 3 year deal gives us the opportunity to moan about the club having no forsight in 2 and a half years when he's our star player and signing a pre contract with lille or something

His agent deserves a rise for getting him a Championship club, when he struggled for starts in division 3
I don’t think he was good enough, to be honest. We were markedly worse down that side when he was in for Cadden
...just a couple of comments from a Barnsley forum

View seems to be that they have a very good left back but this lad will be good. Probably needs a loan move and good coaching not currently good enough for first 11 buy clearly got potential. On paper, decent risk free signing and obviously better than Niko as a back up. Only downside is ... he's young, so will we play him? Signed a lot of released 20 year old recently and they don't get match time. |

Feedback from Barnsley fans seems pretty mixed. Maybe one for the future.
Were relatively well stocked in full back positions I guess with Paal, and Larkeche at left back, Clarke-Salter able to cover there too. Then Kakay and Drew able to play either side, plus Duke-McKenna also able to cover. I suppose you could argue there is still room for a 1st choice right back if we can find one.
