decent signing i suppose. experienced and assuming we bring in forino we'll have 4 good CBS. We'll at least have some cover. JCS is a good defender but far too unreliable with injuries, and I'd rather more experience in the centre than relying on Gubbins (who I do rate). |

Is he better than Paal or just cover? he's a versatile player who's best in a back 3. can play in a back 4, on the left and in midfield. hard working player, think barbetesque tbh. i imagine he's been signed both as a starting option and as cover for other positions and he'll probably end up playing a fair few games next season. not a bad signing though. |

I think he will do a decent job for us,can play in a few positions and be bit of a leader at the back. At least he will be available to play,not like that cxxt Glass-salter

I think he's likely been signed to play at centre half predominantly. It seems he's been used more there in recent years. Not exactly the most exciting signing in the world but he does provide much needed defensive cover.

As someone said previously, mixed opinions on Stokes board.
Some say he’s utter gash and some say he’s not. The common consensus seems to be he’s not great with the ball at his feet, so a bit more of an old school no nonsense type of defender. Great attitude and gives 100% by all accounts though.
Plenty of their fans didn’t want him gone so sounds like he’s an average championship defender. At least he won’t spend most of his time on the treatment table.
