I wouldn’t condemn them all but it’s a good question.

people are people but i feel like footballers are far more selfish and full of bullshit than the average person. take jordan henderson for example, for years he allied himself to LGBT causes and was arguebly the most public about his support but has since gone to a country where being gay can get you the death sentence. sure he'll probably end up donating a few million to a LGBT charity but he's on a cool tax free 700k a week.

I sometimes ask myself why footballers are judged on a different level to rest of society. It’s job at the end of the day in rest of society people go work and don’t fancy it sometimes. It don’t make it right but what’s difference.

It don’t make it right but what’s difference. not just footballers tbh, celebrities all experience it. footballers probably get more flack though as football culture is very tribal

Was reading up about Leo Di Caprio and him flying to a climate summit in a private jet and being pulled up on it by a journo....
His answer..... he "offset" his carbon emissions using the private jet.... Basically paid double the amount it usually cost to some charity instead
Henderson is full of it but I can't blame him as he's 33 and he's set for life now

Everyone is a cant at times, footballers no worse than anyone, you just get made more aware through press because they celebs Ainsworth drew the interesting analogy of footballers in his day knowing how to change a flat tyre, compared with today's who wouldn't have a scooby. (From Westy's report) people are people but i feel like footballers are far more selfish and full of bullshit than the average person. take jordan henderson for example, for years he allied himself to LGBT causes and was arguebly the most public about his support but has since gone to a country where being gay can get you the death sentence. sure he'll probably end up donating a few million to a LGBT charity but he's on a cool tax free 700k a week. Pretty dumb and meaningless response, isn't it?

Gotta be honest, it ain't just footballers that ain't what they used to be. Most of those born mid 90's and onwards that I've managed ain't got a patch on the generations that came before. They need so much positive affirmation. You end up celebrating stuff that frankly is part of the job description. In my day in my industry in some offices you didn't get a chair until you'd closed your first deal! 🤣

every generation calls the next generation soft True but when I was in my thirties like my daughters I was looking out for my parents as they got older. I’m still looking out for my daughters (and one husband). Not that they’re thick in any way, just can’t be arsed.

Never told me that in all the miles we’ve done on away trips. I will Sit in back seat going forwards.

Care to elaborate on that Corbs? your parents no doubt called your generation soft and constantly told you how easy you all have it etc Very strong view from yourself. You dont know me or my background and yet you came to this conclusion. Life as a kid after the war was tough and as for parents calling us soft is laughable. Parents then were just to busy trying to make ends meet and kids were given and made do with what was affordable. Food on the table you are what you were given. So dont start fucking preaching at me,walked most places school, youth club etc. Please dont start spouting about now its the same because now has been brought about by society itself. Never ever called soft by my mother as father left home, everything i have ive grafted for and more. How easy we had it 🤣🤣🤣

Christ, if something costs £1.40 and you give a kid in a shop a fiver and 40p it blows their mind😂

Because you made such a sweeping generalisation about times back then and me,yet you never lived back then,or knew my history and yet made these observations. So now your diverting the conversation to my anger,is this because you choose to just think that the older members of society are not entitled to express themselves or you post something before doing your homework. Instead of OK simple apology would be better but thats probably to much to ask.
