This is not meant as a dig to anyone but are we going to have another season of blaming individual players rather than thinking our choice of manager v the players we’ve got or stuck with don’t match? I think it’s pretty clear most think we’ve got the wrong manager but players have to take responsibility for not playing the game properly. A pro should know about runners, chasing back to cover etc. having the wrong manage or tactics don’t stop you running or putting in the effort. |

A pro should know about runners, chasing back to cover etc. Would you agree if you did your research on Willock and Chair it would be fair to say that they are not known to be chasing back etc For me you take players like them because they are possible match winners. mate look at chair for the goals I reference. He’s putting in zero effort the players for second are within touching distance. He’s not being expected run length of pitch for those goals just try. That’s not to much to expect? |

Look at chair for the second and third goal. Second they pass round him, zero effort from him to get in and he’s walking while they attack. Third short corner he strolls out with Paal instead of sprinting and dictating to Watford what they can do with ball. As for Ainsworth saying will have a plan for every team and are good at set pieces whose idea was it to put the smallest man on the pitch Smyth on one of the biggest who scored with his head for third goal. Absolute amateur park standard football decisions. This. A lack of skill or quality is actually the least of our problems. It's effort and application. And set up. We stood off the Watford midfield all first half and let them carry the ball unimpeded into our defensive third. I'd sell both Chair and Willock- definitely Willock- and use the money in the January window. Think them underperforming and flawed luxuries. |

Nobody hated on Willock and Chair type players in good times under Warburton and Beale, surely it’s about other factors too, like having the right water carriers and correct motivational qualities from the manager?

i thought begovic had a good game. well tbh, he simply didn't do anything wrong. saved the shots he should have saved, didn't pull up any trees and was let down by the rest of the team.

I'm so fucking down tonight. I'd be pissed off losing 4-0 in any case but to lose the way we did, zero fight, is criminal and makes it worse. Already resigned to relegation before the season started and this first game hasn't done anything to change my mind. There is no leadership at all and not one of them are showing any kind of direction for the club they own. The players are a massive problem and have let four managers down and have been allowed to because of the lack of leadership above the managers level. The condition of the stadium is exactly like the playing squad in despeeate need of refreshing and that does fall back to the board. |

We could have cut the Board a little slack in that they THOUGHT they’d brought in someone to do the bit they couldn’t. They then spoilt it by not seeing early enough that the person they’d brought in was nowhere near good enough and needed binning off.
