we have 12 or 13 players in the squad that are genuinely good enough for this level but its the depth and different options off the bench that really let us down.
i've been impressed with smyth since his return but in any other squad he'd be no more than a good option to bring off the bench for 30 minutes. we desparately need some options up top. or even someone who's maybe not the best player but a set piece specialist just for when we're chasing the game.

Just on way home.
No complaints from me. Brilliant battling performance & on chances we should have taken something from today.
Main things for me.
Sinclair was doubled up on all game and was isolated Very hard for him to do much..
Begovic. Had to save that first goal. The kid was only ever going to do one thing, shoot and he fumbled it.
Their second goal. So frustrating. How are we letting him take it down, turn and shoot ffs.
Kolli. Why didn’t he just shoot at the death? He was never in a million years gonna get the time he wanted to control and shoot.
Finally the ref was a total and utter cunt. Some of his decisions were fucking awful. Could see from first 5 mins we were getting fuck all out of him.
Blowing the whistle as we’re about to take a throw in for an attack just rubbed salt in the wounds. I hope his Mrs is sucking his brothers cock the cunt.
Was our disallowed goal offside?
Well played Rangers. Happy with the effort and application. Just ran out of steam about 70 mins in. Onto Boro.

Southampton were no great shakes today. We had 10 men behind the ball for large pars of that game, if anyone thinks that means we played well I give up. 11 shots to their 7 says otherwise. with 5 on target compared to their 3. Five straight at keeper. Very poor.

Second goal was unlucky. A lucky bounce off Armstrong wrong footed Kakay and then he finished well. Would have been almost impossible to predict for the defender as Armstrongs first touch was gash.

Awful ref but we deserved something from that. Fuck knows what kolli was doing at the end there. Play like that every week and no ch ace we are going down. Sincs scared the shit out of them. We played like that previous week and lost. Relegation form with these strikers.

Look at just the wages paid in their squad vs ours. Let alone the fact they have several prem quality players. Then include the parachute payments they get. If anyone thinks those two teams are equal needs a head wobble. We competed well and on another day could have won it let alone got a point. Positives to take

Three errors for their first. Poor from Kakay for the second.

Three errors for their first. Poor from Kakay for the second. A shame that, because I thought Kakay had a good game overall.

It’s not rocket science to see every goal we concede now comes down our right hand side. What is Colback doing falling asleep again for their second goal, he’s a carbon copy of Johansen, look at who Cooks reaction to the goal is aimed at.

We had more shots on goal, what does possession matter? greatest respect mate shots on goal is irrelevant if they don’t go in. All we end up with is a lower shots to goal ratio. They had more possession and were more clinical with chances created so that’s a winning formula. There is progress to be seen in fight but need add more to that but there is baby steps being made so it’s defo not all doom and gloom. Borough big game as they are a side on their knees. Point would be huge if we got all three that would be amazing.

Think there’s some harsh comments re today. I didn’t go last week so can only comment on what I saw today. Today I saw a side that had a go when three weeks ago got absolutely bummed. They absolutely played for the shirt today, had multiple chances which we didn’t take and competed throughout. Don’t think there were any passengers or pussies that didn’t want to be there and on another day we win the game. I completely understand and share the frustration of norwich and ipswich but this isn’t a team that isn’t trying. Last year we had a team that wasn’t trying. It’s where we are as a club sadly due to years of mismanagement at board level. That isn’t on ainsworth and that’s from someone who really didn’t think and still doesn’t think he’s the answer. It is what it is and if they apply that level of commitment every week I’m ok with it

No anti football today sparks. Went toe to toe with a team who’ve made about £70m in transfers and they got lucky, very lucky! We tried to play and tried to put it on them. There was always going to be a gulf in class. They’re a premier league side practically.

Consistently miserable despite obvious improvements in our game? Sure. We were the better team today, whether you like it or not. We were expected to get battered today, I expected that myself. Yes, we lost, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the effort and performance the players put in. It's ok to see positives in defeat.

Putting 10 men behind the ball for three quarters of the game can only be associated with anti football as we only really played for 15mins max. I said I didn’t feel we played well as other than Sinclair Armstrong who did? Southampton have a decent championship goal scoring striker and that’s probably the reason why they got relegated. They certainly don’t look they going to run away with the league with that team team today.

Ainsworth signed six players, how many of them will play ‘if’ everybody is fit? I’ve already questioned why 3 of those signings can play LB when Paal is first choice. Of course his 4th signing is currently playing RWB so maybe your question should be directed at Ainsworth and not me.

Begovic, Fox, Cook, Colback and Smyth started today, with everyone fit I’m not sure how many of them wouldnt start but I suspect they all would play. Once again we have limited FFP wiggle room, what did you expect after the money wasted on Austin and Johansen. Plus the moley bastard wasted money on an obligation to buy Richards and saddling us with the sicknote known as JCS.

We have to play it smart in certain games and up against one of the strongest teams in the league to come away disappointed at not getting at least a point says it all for me. We haven’t yet again bought a half decent striker. If we had one I honestly think we’d be seeing results. We’re literally depending on young kids up front. Not because they’re amazing but because we’re desperate!
