They must've thought Marti was a woman.

Hull won again today and back in the top 6. Puts our win over them into context. We have the capability to compete.

Marti has only been in job a short period. For me he like a breath of fresh air. Yes last couple of games he made mistakes but given what he has to work with hardly surprising. He is not scared to make subs and rotate the team and i guess that is part of his learning process about the players, their strengths and weakness's. Given this and the short period of time left to rescue us from relegation i think we have improved a great deal and from being relegation fodder under Ainsworth we should with the whole club pulling together including the board come January we should be lower to mid table minimum. There is a long way to go,suggest we enjoy the journey, however we all know most games will have squeaky bum time. I still think we're going down but we definitely were with Ainsworth and that's something to remember. If Marti can make the players keep up performances, ie. 3 wins and 3 draws from every 8 games, we are looking at 56 points in total, which should be enough to stay out of trouble. Big if though.

When you put it like that dk it looks to be a huge ask. On the flip side there are teams above us who need similar, with just a win separating us. Thankfully we have a paella eating Estella drinking genius at the helm.

Thought he got it right today after two games where he didn’t get it quite right.
Deserved at least a point.

Yep agree Jimmy. He’s involved in the game on the sideline and set them up yesterday to a game plan that would have worked had it not been for dozzy Dozzell switching off.
Would like to see Chair central instead of wide but to do that you prob need change of formation.
Where I still think we are behind other sides is pace going forwards. Willock and chair carry the ball but are not rapid. I haves always believed pace changes a side especially when it’s out wide. Would not be against Armstrong one wing and Smyth other for few games see if we can turn a few sides around. Get the ball into the middle then up the channels and behind quickly so those too can get on it.

TBF Bill, Westy has always wanted him tried out wide. He’s not a CF. Appreciate you see it differently.

This is fair criticism. That Plymouth game appears to have drained all confidence. Was wrong selection and it’s had big ramifications

Hindsight is 20/20. Suspect he will learn fast from these games, and hopefully make good use of the window with whatever funds are available. This is fair criticism. That Plymouth game appears to have drained all confidence. Was wrong selection and it’s had big ramifications

Your offering him a very easy out there.

is it hindsight when you get the team wrong four games on the bounce? Your offering him a very easy out there. Perhaps so. But to what degree is he hamstrung by the obvious limitations of the squad, and would include mental strength in that? He's a talented coach but not a miracle worker and is in desperate need of a transfer window. That would be my current take on it.

He's made two basic errors imo. If he learns from them, fine. If not, we have another big problem on our hands.
1) We are over reliant on playing out, because we don't have the personnel to do that on a regular basis. Cut according to your cloth.
2) We don't have the squad strength to fuck about every week. He has to start the A team every time he can, end of.
Finally, he needs to look back to the last time we were good, ie Beale early doors. He needs to look at those tactics re using a front three...

This. A midfield three of Dopey Dozzell, Big Girl's Blouse Field and Left Back Paal can only be selected by a fool. Playing Dykes up front the act of the criminally insane.

I can see what he's trying to do playing Paal in LM to allow Larkeche in at LB, who has been impressive there. The problem is we are far weaker on the right with Kakay and Cannon. But that's before we get onto our even bigger problems in CM and attack.

Paal is one of our better and more consistent performers at LB so why mess with that? He looked no better than any other MF there today not sure what he’s done to make anyone think he’s going be better in that position then LB.
That showing from him today I hope puts end to that experiment.
If there are injuries and we’re short in that position then fine but today was simply to get Lak into the team not even to rest Paal.

Looking down the barrel of 4 defeats in a row.
Very poor considering Plymouth, Sheff Weds & Millwall were all winnable and Southampton a lack of concentration (again!) has cost us.

Initial optimism defiant tempered, but still confident he’s a big improvement on Ainsworth.
But losses against Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday a concern. Need something positive very soon.

Lets be honest, Marti has inherited a very poor squad bar three or four players, so you really cant blame him.
even Pep Guardiola probably would not get anything out this squad.
I think we need at least a summer window to judge him, regardless of what league we are in next season.
