Shout out to Xavier Calm and Paul Hall (who oddly people thought was partly responsible for the previous mess) both integral in what’s going on at the moment.

Worried we may lose him to the children’s party scene, I’ve heard they like magicians.

Was thinking about his legacy. Was massively against his appointment from the get go and nothing that happened was a surprise. But his signings were not disastrous on the whole. Colback has been generally solid. Morgan Fox a decent squad player. Smyth frustrates me but does have energy as other say. None of them world beaters but honest pros compared to bad sorts that Hughes and Redknapp signed.

Having watched his post match interview I’m convinced he will be here next season. To my mind he’s the best manager we’ve had since Venables.

Yes him too, though I understand Calm is more his right hand man. And Williams has done a great job on minimising injuries and improved fitness levels

Potential to be one of our really talked amount managers and clearly bags of ability but thats a big claim. We finished 5th in the Premier League under Gerry Francis since then. Warnock smashed the Championship after inheriting a team in a fairly dire position. Prob some other managers who deserve credit, we did get to a Milk Cup final under the Bald Eagle and were in the Premier League for a fair bit of that time. But I do get what you mean: its what Marti could build here.

I fucking love Marti, a proper modern analytical coach. Doesn't get too high off of a win, and doesn't get too down after a bad result - always very measured. The way he has improved such players as Jimmy Dunne (as an example) is nothing short of a miracle.
Looking at the table when he took over we 8 points from 14 games and were 6 adrift from safety (with Rotherham above us having 2 games in hand on us!). He made some very savvy January additions and now we look like a genuinely whole different side. We look solid at the back (fuck me how long has it been since we could say that) & have decent options off the bench.
So long as we stay up this year (I think we will now), I am genuinely excited to see what he can do next seaosn with a whole summer with the squad.

We seem to be getting some interesting articles on QPR recently. This one on Marti:

He’s made us a team. We haven’t had a team for years. Even the subs and loan players are invested. People often talk about getting players to buy in and run through brick walls but very few actually achieve it. It’s why Ferguson (I’m not comparing the two before anyone starts 😂) done so well at Man Utd. Did he have the best players? You could argue not really in some cases. Were they willing to die for him? Absolutely. A squad of talented individuals and a team are two completely different things in my opinion and I’d rather the latter any day of the week. He’s done a monumental job

Just playing Devil’s Advocate, but would he still have done a monumental job if we’re relegated now??

Just playing Devil’s Advocate, but would he still have done a monumental job if we’re relegated now?? Yes. Completely changed the mindset of the players and the fans. Created a team with fight and a team that doesn’t just roll over. If we were to go down (we won’t) it would be down to not taking the 5 opportunities to get out the bottom 3 when other teams had lost. He’s been a revelation. We were absolutely dead and buried before his arrival.

Interesting one…..Ipswich had momentum, feel good factor and surely had the right mentality throughout the club. Marti had to drag the whole place out of the shit here. I can see the argument for Marti.

think mckenna still takes it though tbh. top of the championship ahead of 3 teams with lots of money to splash and with massimo in midfield lol. but it is a travesty that marti isn't even on the shortlist although more power to that tbh. i don't want him receiving too many plaudits yet as we need him here to lead us to the title next year

Even though they're right, well, the bloke on the right is right, and brilliantly so "he took over from the Goth with the guitar" 😂 , I wish people would stop bigging him up! Yeah, he's done OK, nothing special..... moving swiftly on......
