I'm conflicted on this. Would have loved a new deal for Marti to have been announced through the summer. Not sure what message it sends out giving him a new deal after such a poor start to the season. or the extension was done in summer and they have just announced now (part of this new don’t share information strategy) and are choreographing events/forums to suit the situation or they have picked up on few questions of manager and are basically getting it out there he’s our man.

Suspect timing of these announcements more about Nourry as a young CEO facing his first fans forum after a series of slightly underwhelming performances/ results wanted some good news stories.

Yeah, possibly right chaps. Drip feed some positive stories as part of the fans forum. Optics etc.

I think this is positive news stability is the way forward for our club.
Last year we were all worried he was going as he was so successful in his first season
Things not going great at the moment but he will get it right im sure.
Im pleased with this new and JCS too good work board

I've never liked one up top, especially at home, but with the attacking players we have in Saito, Dembele, Smyth we should be able to adopt this system with ease. Problem is they're just not producing. Maybe he should try 2 up top and drop out a midfielder. Hard task for Frey up there with very little supply.

There I was, back in the summer, in Majorca, enjoying a lovely paella, with a nice refreshing glass of Estrella, thinking how good the next 9 months could be. Then last night I had the same, back in London. The paella wasn't as good, the seafood was off, and the Estrella was warm and flat. It would seem some of the ingredients weren't as good as previously and the chef just couldn't get the same results with these inferior ingredients. But I do trust the chef, as well as the bartender to get the paella and Estrella back to a more enjoyable level of quality. Hopefully with the delivery of some superior ingredients in January, I can look forward to a more pleasurable experience in 2025.

The paella looked better than it tasted.

Let`s hope his belief in the way he wants the team to play eventually pays off.

Marti needs to adapt to this league. I don’t care what anyone says this is the hardest league in the world. Prem u can chuck money at the problems but here u have to be clever. He needs to get his bonce round this and fast because a bit of stagnation is setting in. Managing in championship is hardest job a manager will ever have.

Looking forward to international break so that this club can stop spoiling my mood for a couple of weeks. Even bloody Gareth had more wins at this stage last season!

Well bloke is fucking it up, perhaps job is too big for him. It’s great having play principals but it’s a results business and if your play ain’t getting them , adapt to a way that will.

Yep, massive learning curve for him and a fair few of the players. A start would be working on how we take corners. At least twice yesterday it was straight into the arms of their keeper. Third time round it was sent long to be headed back across the box, straight into the arms of their keeper. Nobody trying to block him or challenge for the the ball, schoolboy stuff really. Hull on the other hand played it short, then out to the midget on the edge of the box who swung it in, repeatedly causing us problems. Take note Marti and start developing some alternatives to the basic, repetitive shite we seem to persevere with. It’s not easy to improve players composure in front of goal but if you work on doing the basics well that could nick you a goal in a game which could make all the difference

Don’t get taking off Frey, 4 goals in 8 games, and replacing him with someone who is yet to even resemble a footballer.

I said it on the match thread last night. I'd be on the blower to Andre Grey. He's out of contract and looking for a club. He'd do a job on a 1 year deal and would bring a bit of much needed Championship experience into our frontline.

as much as losses hurt i think it'l end up being more beneficial in the long run for us to have lost the past 2 games than draw them. it forces marti to reassess the squad and how we play. i think we did slightly tweak the side coming into the game last night but things do need to be fiddled around a bit more to get the best out of players.

Am with you here Corbs. Think there's been a lot of complacency this season. Reminds me of the first year we went down round about 96/97, when we just seemed to think we only had to turn up. We arrogantly thought we could field the likes of Santos and stroke it round like we are Barca, but you need to earn the right to play that way in the Champ. What Marti excelled at last season was making us super-tight, but this now gone out of the window. Needs a re-think. The positive is we are not the disaster zone of Gareth's QPR. We have the basis of a decent team, tho as I have long banged on about, I do think our central midfield is weak as piss and that will hamper us. With a fully fit squad, Marti should be able to tighten us up at the back (JCS key here, as is Dunne at right back) and hopefully with Chair easing back into it, Saito starting to show what he can do, we will improve offensively. At least last night we were creating chances. But we do need some serious work on the training pitch...

it forces marti to reassess the squad and how we play. Something he has been incapable of to date. The writing has been on the wall since pre season. I like your optimism but once you get worked out in this division, you either adapt or you're in big trouble.

Marti needs to stop rot, get this lost winning even ugly, need a win run. Or we be in the shit Jan and fighting another relegation battle and he could be out on his new contract ear. Ok he kept us up but anyone could have except Noddy. Noddy was so poor he make anyone look good.Marti needs to now earn his praise, he not repairing someone else’s cock up, he got a clean slate start. Show us what u can actually do

As I said on the match thread last night, feels like Warburton all over again. So concerned about playing a certain way that we've forgotten the objective is to win.
