Looking ahead, if Marti can't keep us up, was the damage already done or is it gonna be Marti Out posts by May? For me, regardless what happens, we should keep him and let him rebuild in League 1. Agreed. More chance that Warnock would have kept us up (who I still suspect was the club's 1st choice), but now Marti is here he has my full backing.

You'll get some wanting him out if he takes us down but I'm optimistic that most will attribute that relegation to Ainsworth and give him the time he needs to undo everything the latter did. Yes, similar situation in 2019 when Cifuentes failed to keep Sandefjord up, after taking over there mid-season.

It’s not difficult to surmise that the traning ground sponsorship could enable a transfer raid prior to the jan window opening.

Interesting tweet from an Evening Standard reporter: I wonder what the Eureka moment was when they realised that Ainsworth had to go? Weeks suggests that it was before Blackburn.

All I know despite what my views are on the appointment, I wish the new guy luck and surely this 11 isn’t bottom 3 material with a decent manager at the helm -
Begovic
Cannon cook Dunne paal
Colbeck field
Smyth chair Willock
Dykes

One of first jobs will be to turn the Checkatrade into the fortress it once was. Teams hated going there, now they just take the piss.

Everyone bring spare undercrackers to the next game. You’ll need them after watching Begovic attempting to play out from the back under pressure.

Depends on results imo. If he averages less than a point per game, I think we have to consider replacing him.

Simon Jordan's take on not appointing Warnock:

Given how he liked to set up team with a very fast and more agile(?) focal point up front when he was at Sandefjord, I can see that being Smyth instead of Dykes actually. Another change I assume he will make is playing Chair centrally.

We've had a few seasons where we were unbelievably good at home and lost few but for the most part we have always been a win some, lose some, draw some kind of team at Loftus Road.

Can’t agree. When we were good it was because we used to win most home games and nearly always score second half Loft end.

Encouraging ethos and ideas - implies there may not only be a Plan A, but also Plans B, C, D etc….
Impressive English - will be good for communicating with the players.
Seems to have more credibility than Ainsworth - can’t see him bringing in the Hakka guy (maybe running with the bulls of Pamplona).
41 years old - and he’s been coaching for 20 of those!
Have to say that, before a ball is kicked, I’m impressed and optimistic.

Not seen any of his stats or videos of how his teams play but first impressions are I like him but that is based solely on how he speaks and come across; that however is not indicator of how he will do as Beale spoke well but flattered to deceive.
You get the feeling he will have the respect of the players and felt there was a confidence about him.
Felt there was a little bit of warburton about him especially when he said he likes possession.
Hopefully the players adapt quickly and we see the benefits.

Think we need to judge this guy on results not not interview likability
He can say wot he wants in any lauguage I don’t give a fuck
Just give us wins and draws as soon as possible
I would play Willock up front as our front two are shite
