Dieng had difficult last season but he's my all time favourite goalkeeper at QPR. Jesus. Peter Hucker Phil Parkes David Seaman Jan Stejskal All proper proper GK's for us.

Dieng had difficult last season but he's my all time favourite goalkeeper at QPR. Recently Smithies was my favourite by far. Never saw any of the above play.

Burridge pulled off one of the best saves I’ve ever seen away at Charlton. Top keeper.

Interestingly we've never had a best ever QPR keeper thread.

Seen every keeper we've had since '75 and in my lifetime it was Parkes.
Top 5 would be:
1. Parkes 2. Seaman 3. Woods 4. Kenny 5. Stejskal

Would only argue Burridge for Jan.

Woods went on to be an excellent goalkeeper but we didn't really see the best of him. The same could be said about David Seaman too to some degree. Phil Parkes would be my answer but nice to see some love for Jan Steksal, was an excellent 'keeper and we struggled to replace him for a number of years after he left.

Would only argue Burridge for Jan. Decent shout Alan. Yes, debatable. Both keepers had their strengths and weaknesses.

Dieng had difficult last season but he's my all time favourite goalkeeper at QPR. Jeez, You've set the bar awfully low with Dieng.! For me, keepers I've actually seen would be Parkes Seaman Woods Kenny Chris Day

For me Parks, Seaman and Jan - all were number one for major countries and were in some of our best ever teams. Jan v commanding and pulled off great saves. Likes of Budgie prob worth a mention more for being such a character, too short to be up with our very best.
Springett also must be up there with 30 odd England caps but think the likes of Alan cd confirm don’t think he got any while playing for us

I don't claim he's absolutely best we have ever had, but nevertheless one of the best and my all time favourite. Was superb for two seasons. In his prime now. I would be surprised if he didn't play Premier League.

Forgot about Kenny haha. Day was a legend for his save vs Pldham.
For me, watching though rather than best, Smithies was most enjoyable. More of a sweeper keeper and actually saved penalties.
Maybe is enjoyed him as he replaced Rob Green.

If the criteria is for penalty saves alone Smithies might be the best in our history.

Looking forward to seeing bugggys save. Just cannot be arsed to watch it all.
On a side note, was everything black and white back then?

No, there was a fault with the tape that game was loaded onto and that's why it is. That Charlton channel has an amazing number of matches from that season - and more besides- and all are in colour.
