Hmm let me guess...he is NOT a striker? Bingo. Attacking midfielder. Graduate of the Chelsea academy, signed by Brentford, capped by England at U16 level. Played 40 games on loan at Forest Green last season, scoring 5 goals. Promising young player, but probably not what we need right now and doesn't inspire confidence. (Info from Wikipedia, I'm no expert)

We need attacking creative midfielder so aside from a striker I would argue that type of player is exactly what we need to create more opportunities especially if he can play forward at pace as where very low energy one paced in attack currently.

This. We need more than one player but if we only get one and he can get in the box, maybe get a goal or two from the edge, then he will bring something we haven’t got and things may improve around him.

Looks like Luke Amos is off to Hibs. Liked him, and there was definitely a player in there, but miles too injury prone. Real shame.

Middlesbrough fans scathing about him Maybe he’s a waster but looks like he’s got something about him on the ball, think he’s leaving a Portuguese club over a bust up with the manager.

We got no money to waste so contract to end of season no long term commitment would make sense as can bin him if he is shit.
In our financial position we need get every transfer right now can’t keep burning dough on players that don’t fit.

La Liga clubs Cadiz and Getafe have made offers for Sporting Gijon's French midfielder Jonathan Varane, the half-brother of Manchester United defender Raphael Varane. Championship sides Norwich and QPR also have bids in for the 22-year-old

With a full name of Christian Phillipe Henri Nourry the new CEO appears to be targeting players with backgrounds in French football if the 2 most recent transfer rumours are to be believed.
For me I would be getting onto Mikel Arteta about loaning in a couple of Arsenal youngsters, Myles Lewis-Skelly in particular looks outstanding in MF.

Maybe working with Marti, might help us?

Varane don’t look anything special in his highlights reel, odd that he’s another defensively minded MF linked, Aoraha looks to be either out for the season or not in Marti long term plans at all

odd signing, we're a bit light in midfield but not terribly so and we could still square peg into round holes if need be. i don't see us signing varane especially as norwich have apparently submitted a buy offer for him already, tbh if we were to get a midfielder in i'd rather we took tim irobunrmuemekbdem back.
striker has to be the option, sincs fitness is always a bit sus and dykes just isn't a real option there. smyth maybe could do a job but he lacks strength. jonson clarke-harris rejected a 500k offer from charlton and his contract is up in the summer. i reckon we could pick him up for half that if we leave it later in the window plus there's your goals if we do go down

To add, why are we being linked with players when we can't do anything this window? Gives the fans false hope imo.

He was more than ready for our first team this season imo, Ainsworth couldn’t see the wood from the trees with starting even Kolli Easy to blame a rookie like Alex Carroll for not getting Aoraha a loan earlier but im guessing Ainsworth needed to be pro-active to rubber stamp it too.

I know you watch the young players often, would you say Aroaha should've been making his debut for the first team before Kolli or instead of him? I do like Kolli but he's clearly very raw and, though he isn't far off, I'd say he probably wasn't ready to be called up just yet. I don't really know anything about Aroaha other than him representing his country at U21 level (could be wrong, correct me if I am).

I don't really know anything about Aroaha other than him representing his country at U21 level (could be wrong, correct me if I am). It’s hard to say when comparing both players, Kolli appears to have by-passed the U21s straight from the U18s which is no mean feat imo and was virtually unknown before playing against Spurs in last seasons U18 FA cup competition. I also watched him on a feed in the Hong Kong 7 a side tournament at the end of last season that Ferdinand organised, the rules stated no passes allowed over head height. QPR were knocked out by Brighton in the semi finals due to Kolli not closing down an opponent, our players and coaching staff made their feelings known to him and he ended up sulking and being subbed off. In the 3rd place play off match he was left on the subs bench until we were 3-0 with 5 mins left, they brought Kolli on and he immediately scored 2 really good goals with some great dribbling skills. Aoraha has played at the u20s World Cup tournament last season and also made a couple of appearances for the senior international team.
