Good win. Can't say we played well. Only saw second half though. We had a bit more possession in first half, quite a lot of our play today came from Hull mistakes which came from pressing their players. I’m very happy to win today but there’s next to nothing in MF. We are just a counter attacking team atm imo because we don’t have anyone in MF to dictate play. 1st half possession stats - 62% Hull, 38% QPR. Not sure what 2nd half was yet

Begovic MOTM for me simply for the importance of 3-4 of those saves.
Everyone to a man put a shift in.
Dozzell I thought the only player who didn’t have a good game but in fairness he dug in all the way.
Great to see us have a plan, some tactics and actually execute them.
Also, our defence is looking much better. JCS & Cook a great combo.
Good to see Westy & Al Wycombe today too 😄👍🏼

Won three in a row, lost one in six, still bottom three. That's how bad we were. Same squad..... Admit it. You're coming round.... There's still a very long way to go, the squad is still paper thin imo, but that's what makes the turn around pretty exciting. Had a text after game from an old WHU pal, reckoned that hanging onto him is gonna be the problem.

Feel bit for Armstrong and this is where stats can be bollocks as he made that goal closing keeper but he gets nothing for it instead willock gets assist for pass which is harsh.

Field probably the only player who has gone backwards under Marti. Never appreciated Dozzell and he's another player who hasn't developed.

We should have been clear in first half as there were two pull backs with players walking on to ball like the second which we messed up. Could easily have been three nil at half time.
Asmir really turned up today pulled off some terrific saves.

we are reeling in Brum, Plymouth, Millwall, Stoke and Huddersfield now - all of them must be looking very nervously over their shoulders

"Pressing high on 93 minutes" - and at 2-0 up - that's music to my ears. Not done that for as far back as I can remember but is the approach I've always wished for.

Bloody hell, how refreshing to hear Cifuentes speak after months of cliche ridden emptied the tank crap from Gaz.
It’s clear he knows the game, his tactics, his plan, the players’ strengths, their state of mind. He’s a PROPER manager.
Only fly in the ointment, unless he gets us promoted this year or next, some Prem team will come and lure him away.

thought we were superb today. only dozzell and field had below par games but even they chipped in and worked hard, dozzell gets a bit of a letting off too for that ridiculous stepover.
JCS is a fucking rock at the back. he's one of the best CBs in the league and if he can keep fit then we'll have a proper assett on our hands. not just him either, cook fits in well and his experience is something that has been sorely missing in the backline. i mean, what partnership would you prefer, begovic with JCS+cook or dieng with dunne+dickie? its the former for me all day long.
i even think dykes had a good game too! yes he didn't get on the ball much or get many real chances but he did EXACTLY what we've needed him to do for years. he made a nuisance of himself, he created space, closed down, held up the ball and most importantly he lead the line superbly today. without him up top i doubt willock and chair would have had the ability to play with so much freedom.
special mention for the teams reaction to sincs after chair's goal too. i guess his head has dropped a bit but they were all round him bigging him up and patting him on the back. it was nice to see, the team is playing with confidence, they're happy and are trying to drag guys like sinclair onto their level.
its amazing to see the turnaround, it really is and we actually look like we finally have a decent gameplan and competition for places. no longer is it a case of x player playing because he's simply not as bad as y player, everyone has stepped it up and i'd have full faith with any lineup.

Think we need give Willock credit for the first chase for the second goal which was followed by muscles press. Good teamwork that as unless they both work hard there there is not a goal.

I’m not convinced by this dykes in middle ploy both Ainsworth and Marti have deployed. He plays upfront or not at all imo

I’m not convinced by this dykes in middle ploy both Ainsworth and Marti have deployed. He plays upfront or not at all imo think the main idea there is that in theory it messes up their back line, 9 arrives late etc (ref Kane at THFC) But you need a football brain to play that role....

What a goal from Willock! Pressing, pushing, fighting, passing, SCORING, great saves, clean sheets.... what is this wizardry? Same squad as you had Ainsworth. Night and day mate. Night and day.
Life is beautiful and I love Marti Cifuentes.
