Dykes far from the worst culprit tonight. Agreed Willock quiet, Chair playing too deep to make up for lack of forward momentum from Dozzell and Field. Agreed Kelman played completely out of position and should have either been moved up top Agreed Shame Paal went off as that triangle on the left starting to work at the end of first half. Agreed We just looked tired and so, so slow - no one dared take on their man and run to the byline. Agreed We really must stop agreeing like this as I'm finding you far too agreeable. Dykes still usual crap though. |

Frustrating game but these things happen.
FIrst half; a tale of 2 halves within it really. Started so poorly. Really struggled to move off the ball and short 5 yard passes were going wayward or under hit. Field sits and just passes sideways or backwards. Seems to panic with anything going forwards. Dozzell tries to do more but not definsive minded enough to just sit in order to play without Field.
Willock was non existent until near half time. Kelman nearly scored. I can only think he started as Smyth has been getting a lot of knocks and strains, so needed a bit of a rest. Armstrong not good enough on the wing so who else played there? Same with Cannon; just coming back from injury plus no pre season so he can't play all the time yet.
I thought the subs made sense. Remove the yellows, DB comes on for Field so more attacking. Only thing would be could he go 2 up top and move Kelman there and Symth out wide? But nit picking after the event really. Smyth did well when he came out but once again, crosses don't find players.

upon seeing the replay, yeah its a red tbh. didn't think so at the game and thought he was just harshly sent off for a late last man challenge.

The red card worked against us felt like after that decision he gave them every 50/50 Think that's why he took off all three players on a yellow. I mean Field was shit so needed to go but Paal performance-wise you surely would have kept on. He probably thought the ref is going to want to even things up so lets not give him an excuse to give us a red. In that sense lucky Colback wasn't playing as he has red mists to suit his hair. |

A reality check. mc doesn't agree with him. We were poor and he got some calls wrong, it doesn't matter what happened elsewhere. Encouraging thing is he fronts up. I like that. |
