It's a 20 minute walk from the nearest tube station. It was a pathetic following and speaks volumes about the fanbase as it is now. Not every fan lives in London. We had 3000 tickets to shift and they went on general sale for a London Derby. It sums up our fanbase.

I wasn't but I live nowhere near London and don't drive. However, I've never missed a match at Millwall because I was scared of walking through Bermondsey... There are many who have a perfect excuse but, as above, its a London Derby which went to general sale.... there really is no other way to describe this but pathetic turnout. There's no defending this.

We've not won an away boxing day fixture over 50 years but still take thousands away to most fixtures on that day...

What a steaming pile of turd. Stop talking bollox as if you can speak for everyone. I live in Hertfordshire where there were no trains as does my son and my pal. That's 3 tickets that would normally be sold. Many R's fans live in these kind of areas. We don't have massive away following we have an ok one don't get it twisted.

I've been to plenty of Boxing Day games over the years where I wouldn't say we've had a great turn out at all. Different circumstances for every game, year, situation. 1,500 odd on Boxing Day for a 1pm kick off with no trains is a decent turnout. Not amazing but seen many the same over the years. People scared to walk from Bermondsey station?? Have a word with yourself

Let's face reality, we've become the type of fanbase who insist on sitting in 'their seat' at away games and walking from Bermondsey station was always going to be too scary for many. They would have shat themselves in '87.

1500 i think is a good turnout given its Christmas, trains all over the place, weather, family, cost and the crap we been playing lately.
So fair play to those who went but the team display was poor.

millwall away is one of my favourite games of the season but i didn't go simply because its on boxing day. i don't imagine that i'm the only one who doesn't go to boxing day games either.
1500 for a boxing day game at 1pm with no trains running is a very good turnout.

Why should I pretend to like what we've become? Because its part of you, your life your very being. I live off the memories. Even sat at Loftus Road I find myself reminiscing about days gone by rather than fully caring about what I'm seeing in front of me to be honest.

Paying good money to watch the worst striker in the galaxy is not top of most people’s priorities. People didn't go because they were scared of walking through Bermondsey, let's be honest That’s total shit. It was a disappointing following but more to do with time of year than walking through Bermondsey. I went with my boy no concerns at all brining him and the walk was pleasant as can be was nice exploring another part of London off the beaten track.

So forgive me, how does me calling out people who were frightened of walking through Bermondsey apply to you? As I said, for a fanbase who have taken some bloody good followings across the country on Boxong Day it was a pathetic amount for a London Derby. You can agree or not but I'm not trying to change your opinion and am not going to change mine, its about expressing views.

Well, just for starters we took 2.5k to Pompey in 1997 at the game you quoted... plenty in between? 3k to Crystal Palace in 1994 - a far harder ground to get to than The Den 3k to Arsenal in 1995 2k ish to Norwich in 1999 I cant pretend that this has nothing to do with having to walk through Bermondsey...

You seriously think If we played this Saturday at Millwall with no trains only 1500 would still go due to having walk from Bermondsey and it was nothing to do with trains or it being Boxing Day?

We would have had 17k+ for a home match against them on the same day so these people would have found a way to get there. Each to their own but I'm calling this as I see it...
