QPR v Bournemouth annual FA Cup exit match thread (06/01/24)
Are we all excited at QPR’s prospects ahead of the Bournemouth game?
Me neither…
So here are some games you can follow on TV for a bit of decent football (and frankly, even Shrewsbury v Wrexham has got to be better than watching us) without risking your blood pressure...
FA Cup third round live televised games:
Thursday, 4 January Crystal Palace v Everton, 20:00 - live on ITV4, ITV X
Friday, 5 January Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley, 20:00 - live on ITV1, ITV X
Saturday, 6 January Sunderland v Newcastle United, 12:45 - live on ITV1, ITV X Middlesbrough v Aston Villa, 17:30 - live on BBC One, iPlayer and BBC Sport website & app. Chelsea v Preston North End, 17:30 - live on iPlayer, Red Button and BBC Sport website & app.
Sunday, 7 January Manchester City v Huddersfield Town, 14:00 - live on iPlayer, Red Button and BBC Sport website & app. Shrewsbury Town v Wrexham, 14:00 - live on S4C. Arsenal v Liverpool, 16:30 - live on BBC One, iPlayer and BBC Sport website & app.
Monday, 8 January Wigan Athletic v Manchester United, 20:15 - live on ITV1, ITV X
For what it’s worth, I think both teams will put out weakened sides and we’ll continue our fine tradition of going out in the 3rd round - extending our lead at the top of the ‘Team with the highest incidence of going out of the FA Cup in the 3rd Round' leaderboard.

Why have they stuck Palace Everton and Spurs Burnley on box it’s far cup you can watch those games in the prem and they wonder why people are falling out of love with the cup. because its to appeal to those clubs. fans of those clubs will tune in as we would if it was QPR vs birmingham in the cup on TV. but i agree with you that it takes away from the magic of the cup. no one remembers divisional rivals in the 3rd round of the cup but we all remember vauxhall motors vs QPR (lol), havant and waterlooville vs liverpool or sutton vs arsenal etc. tbh i'm more interested in those games than i am us in the typical nothing 3rd round games. i wouldn't mind going through of course but if we do i want us to draw one of the big boys away, i'd love to go to anfield or old trafford. heck, utd are a team we might actually be able to beat right now lol.

£25 a ticket
Ridiculous. Probably be about 11,000 there.
Charge a tenner, kids for a quid and pack the place out.
Debating if I can even be arsed.

BBC pundits’ view…
They both predict a home loss.

Purely from a numbers pov, that drop in ticket sales will bring in an extra 2 k for example. 13k at £10 is 130000 11k at £25 is 275000 Having said that, I doubt we'll even get 11k there. Bournemouth won't bring many.

Yes it’s a prem side but it’s not one that’s going to draw a crowd.

Got my ticket for this mainly so she didn't drag me out looking aorund a garden centre or something, but really have no sense of excitement for this game at all tbh. Can see it being a real dull affair with us getting beat 0-2.... Of course I'd love to be proven wrong, I am in the camp of thinking we should give the cup a good go tbh.

I say that every year Matty but for the first time I say play the reserves, see where it gets us, because the club really is at crisis point - more so than I have ever known. We cannot afford to get relegated.

We could do with a cup run, simply for money and feel good.
We won't have one, but still.
Anyone got any nerdy facts about 3rd round knock outs?

You have to score goals to stay in a knockout tournament 😂

The obvious natural replacement for an injured Chair is Bala, can only guess that he’s also injured for Marti to be selecting Peddar and Talla for the subs bench recently, although all 3 players look la bit lightweight even in U21 games.

Feel a bit like Bernie Ecclestone on this one - if it was being played in my back garden I'd be tempted to shut the curtains...

Feel a bit like Bernie Ecclestone on this one - if it was being played in my back garden I'd be tempted to shut the curtains... Good quote, and sorry to be pedantic Stains, but it the original was Shankly... "If Everton were playing down the bottom of my garden, I'd draw the curtains."
