Maybe they just had Andersen ready as back up, if we had money coming in for Chair or Willock?

It`s very disappointing if we don't get Andersen in. We really need options up front.

Sounds far too cunning for us...Under Les and Lee, I make you right. Here's hoping our new young CEO can help on that front.

Is the Andersen deal a supposed loan? If he's coming on a free then can be signed outside of window....I know, clutching at straws here

After reading that earlier statement from Andersen’s agent Mikel Beck I agree with Shania in that the player has failed a medical.
Saw another rumour earlier concerning a Standard Liege player that failed to go through today due to one of our own players not leaving.
Getting shot of Dozzell to bring in Frey, Hayden and Hodge looks decent potential improvements on paper from Marti and Nourry.

Whispers already that Lucas Andersen's contract has been terminated by mutual consent, which will allow us to sign him on a free. Not sure how true that is, just thought I'd share.

Well if that’s true, he’ll put in more effort than Willock at least.

A long time since we have been anyone's dream. Lets hope it doesn't turn into a nightmare. Great if it comes off.

So in summary: Experienced (29) right-footed AM who can play on either wing too. Played top-tier in Denmark, Holland and Switzerland.

If we had signed Andersen i think that the club would then struggle to sign another player from overseas due to the regulations on UK work permits, iirc only 3 are permitted using the less strict regs implemented recently.

Still expecting him in. If he’s agreed to cancel the contract the other end I can only assume it’s done. Maybe waiting for paperwork etc, there was a couple of days delay after the Frey news started to break

Fwiw, Andersen has played for Denmark so It should be good enough to get a work permit I would have though.

Here is a machine translation: Now there is news about Lucas Andersen
Tipsbladet gives an explanation here as to why Lucas Andersen's switch to QPR is not yet a reality.
One of the big stories on deadline day was Lucas Andersen.
Tipsbladet could reveal that the now former AaB captain would switch to English Queens Park Rangers, where he will be reunited with former AaB coach Marti Cifuentes.
The reality is that Lucas Andersen has not been introduced to the English club yet, and that he had his contract in AaB canceled a few minutes before the deadline.
So what's up and down in the Lucas Andersen case?
According to Tipsbladet's information, everything has fallen into place in Lucas Andersen's switch to QPR. The medical examination has been passed, there is an agreement on the contract, but one thing has gotten in the way.
The work permit.
According to our information, Lucas Andersen has not yet received a work permit in England, which is why the cancellation maneuver was necessary for the switch to be made, as it could not be reached before the deadline.
It takes time to get a work permit in England, so the expectation is, according to Tipsbladet's information, that the work permit will be approved during the coming week, after which Lucas Andersen can pull the QPR jersey over his head.
Lucas Andersen happily returned home to AaB in 2018, but the mix between an upcoming contract expiration and the limited playing time has recently meant that the Lucas Andersen arrow pointed away from Aalborg.
He has represented the North Jutland club a total of 176 times, in which he scored 29 goals and made 30 assists.
In recent seasons, it was also wearing the captain's armband that he took to the pitch for AaB.

Aalborg was relegated last season from Danish top league and Andersen didn't even get playing time in that poor team. Sounds odd signing this.

Not sure if that's good or bad though 🤷♂️ I’ve seen some people saying that Andersen did not suit Aalsborg style of play since Marti left.Saw another comment that he only played 8 matches under Marti before suffering a serious ACL injury resulting in Marti leaving before he regained match fitness. Sometimes players need a fresh start after going stale and I don’t have any doubts regarding Andersen’s quality.

He is hopefully a player who wants to prove his quality (and fitness).
