If we hadn’t come back for a point there, I’d have worried for us. We were excellent. Deserved 3 against a good side. Well done Marti and lads. We’re playing well and got fight!

Phewee what a rollercoaster that was. I don't know which way I want to feel... elated? Angry? Certainly full of pride for my team who never give up these days and ran the Baggies ragged second half. I knew Michi Frey was going to miss that pen, I bet you did too... And at that point, and then after Cook's? header? that Kipre handled, I was fuming... but managed to calm down pretty quickly, because, well, because IN MARTI WE TRUST!
My main take away from tonight is how good we look now. A far, far cry from the shambles that we were before Marti joined us. We look like a proper, well-organised, Championship side. 20 shots we had in that game to WB's 5. 6 on target. We're also fast becoming a dangerous side. And I love it!
So, a Desmond it is, up to the heady heights of 19th, we move on to Saturday and Boro. Destiny is in our hands!

Think we will need 50 points to stay up
3 more wins and a draw personally

Missed the pen, then cheated out of it by Kipre who should have seen red. Exactly what a cunt. And cunt ref.Blind as a bat, lino as well. Couldn’t believe he didn't spot Pipa almost pulling shirt off Smyth.

Field MOM for me; what an effort crowned with two goals. Amazing that he's recaptured his form under Marti and probably playing his best football since being at the club. Like Dunne, Smyth and Willock, Field's another player that Marti has transformed.

By the way, I know his pen was toilet (and that’s a big thing lol) but thought Frey was brilliant today. Put a proper shift in and the way he followed Chair’s shot in for our first goal showed a proper strikers instinct .
Andersen a right classy little player as well.
Disappointing not to win that with 19 corners, 20 shots, a missed pen and 2 off the line - but we are looking bloody good at the mo. Praying we can keep that level of performance up Saturday .

And how he rotate the squad seems to work 100 percent because every player seems to buy into it by the looks of things.

People on another site were really down on our players earlier on in the season, and even when Marti came in, they continued to say that this group of players weren't good enough. Not capable of staying up, even. Well I didn't agree, I always felt it wasn't the players - who had been top of league under boilface - it was down to the manager. The Lancs Cowboy demolished the team's confidence with his cowboy tactics and comedy motivation. It's just over four months since Marti arrived and you can see the quality and ability is there. Look at Dunne! Transformed. Willock, Field, Chair... everyone plays better when they trust the man at the helm.

Said it all season, on paper this team shouldn't be anywhere near the bottom three. We're seeing that now with a proper manager at the helm.

Said there's no way they should be in this position with their talent and couldn't wait to start working on them. I like Calm too. Think he also has to take some credit for working on the defence.

Think he’s just managing Willocks game time lads. Sure he’ll start on Saturday. We don’t want to run him into the ground just after he’s getting back to form

Think he’s just managing Willocks game time lads. Sure he’ll start on Saturday. We don’t want to run him into the ground just after he’s getting back to form Exactly my thoughts. I think Marti has really got this team ticking and he's so on his game in terms of managing players, and now that our confidence and form is really starting to soar, he can afford to make these kind of tweaks. Clever, clever manager. So fucking impressed with him. It's some kind of mad football drama what we've been through the last couple of seasons: from the ridiculous to the sublime.

What a difference it makes to have a striker who defends from the front and hassles defenders into errors.
