A big ask. Let's not be deceived by Tuesday's result. We weren't all that.

Lose no more than 11 then. We'll have lost another 6 by the end of 3rd Feb in my opinion...

Continuing Marty's record so far- P4 W1 D2 L1 F5 A4- might do it.

I reckon third from bottom will go right to the wire and need 50 points so we’ll have to match last season. At least.

A big ask. Let's not be deceived by Tuesday's result. We weren't all that. True, but then how many other teams in the Championship are "all that"? Think we made a lot of teams look world beaters under Gareth simply because we were so unbelievably shit. We are getting better and I do trust Marti's coaching methods. Just a day or two on the training pitch practicing corners for example would earn us several more goals. A lot hinges on Jan - if we could land a half decent striker on loan (big "if") - I think this side would look transformed. Other than that I think our team looks competitive. If we had higher ambitions I wouldn't see Smyth, Colback or Dunne as starters but we do have 5 or 6 players a lot of clubs would like to have in this division.

Is that Stanley signing an autograph while he waits for a corner? Re window, yeah agreed - it cuts both ways now as well with one or two players coming into form. Chair could well be a target of a team chasing promotion. Paal is a bloody good player I think. Field is one of those solid players a lot of teams might want. Willock probably too soon to judge but if he does continue his recovery and able to go for free in the summer, if he refuses to sign a contract we prob wouldn't have any choice but to accept a decent offer, particularly if it allowed us to buy a striker.

Wouldn't want to lose anyone right now but the reality is we will have to sell to get someone in. Hopefully January Marti can get a couple of loans in and hold off on buying or selling until the summer where he will have more time to build his own team. Absolute priority for me is trying to get Willock to sign a new deal. If he's going to leave we want a fee for him.

Jan window makes or breaks.
That's not to say that MC would be in anyway responsible for relegation but we need cover/improvements desperately because this is going to be tough.
We've won back-to-back matches and only chipped away 2 points from the gap which shows you how difficult it will be.

Love the picture Stan. Is that Stanley signing an autograph while he waits for a corner? Looks to me like he's reading the match program or possibly a betting mag, with Don Shanks trying to grab it off him so they can concentrate on the game! Was typical of one of Stan's pranks.

Could be wrong but that looks like Shanks to me, not Gillard (as the article says) Yeah thought it was at Boro.

Same goal difference now as Huds though, and just one more win puts us in touching distance with the eight teams above. I'm quietly confident we'll be fine under MC. Either way it'll be exciting to watch. #ItsOnlyDecember!

Bowles claimed it in his autobiography but it was another one of his, erm, exaggerations. qprreport.proboards.com/thread/35186?page=1

But didn’t Hazell knock it off (again) during the game, accidentally, with a clearance?
