Oh ok Like Varane was supposed to be then ? I think some fans got the wrong end of the stick about him. By all accounts the nearest player in world football - according to one of these new data algorithms - was Hayden. Probably how we chanced upon Varane. In other words, he was signed as a 6. No evidence, that I am aware, that he has ever been box to box. A big failing in our team has long been that inability to bring it forward from defensive midfield. Dozzell would simply pass it straight back to the CB and think "job done". He was the worst offender but Field, Coleback and even to some extent Hayden struggle to move us forward and break the lines. Know nothing about this guy but maybe the hope is he can do that? |

Dembele, Saito 'and one other' didn't get a name. Just seen the news about the Belgian. Never heard a thing about him but sounds good! |

But he may have elite speed (something we lack up top) and with good service (yes I know, but there were glimpses last game) he could be a game changer. Best to get him on the cheap before the price goes up. If he doesn't pan out, kick him down to the developmental squad until he does work out. |

well, if you factor in his Flamengo U20s form plus the few outings he had for their first team, his 2024 ratio (mpg) is way better than anyone currently occupying an Rs shirt.
How that translates to the championship is anyones guess ...

Any transfer news? Yeap - nothing has been announced if that's news.  Some self proclaimed ITK's say Madsen signed yesterday but club are waiting for the usual clearances and work permits before announcing it. But then again he could have failed his medical. Until it appears on the Offie "I know nothing' as Manuel would say. |

like for like replacement for dykes in terms of playstyle. decent striker is coburn, holds the ball up well, brings others into play and is deceptively quick at times with a good finish on him.
only issue is he's struggled with injuries a fair bit. not sold on whether he's worth bringing in for £1.5m to replace dykes although he is only 21

Be interested to hear the views of Boro fans.
Better scoring record than Armstrong but is there a similarity in that in the final analysis isn’t able to nail down a first team place in a roughly comparable team???
