Bloody hell, give the bloke a chance. Indeed. Ditto Varane. And ditto Santos who's not even been played in his correct position yet. These are new players to a new country, to a new league, and to a squad that's not yet at full strength (eg Dembele and Saito haven't even kicked a ball yet) Show a little patience with them, if that's not too much to humbly request. It's just unrealistic to expect all these players to hit the ground running. And the same will apply to Dembele and Saito if they don't make an instant impact. |

Watched a few clips of him and once in front of goal he can finish. He makes runs and in some clips he bends his run something our strikers do not do. Get the ball forward quickly and the boy will score. Liked the look of Varane last night gets around the pitch well and noves the ball quickly. |

The heat is on..
My thoughts from afar.... Currently abroad and missed end of pre season games and the start of the season so can't give an honest opinion....
Not impressed by players being written off already on here... We sign a striker and he's a dud on the back of two games and we need to sign another one!
Where is this magic money tree?
Watching the highlights the first goal last night was really good by Frey and Smyth scored a goal he shouldn't have, players regularly slaughtered on here
I'm on the fence as last season we were signing players on one year contracts just to seemingly fill the squad...
We won last night.... We're in the next round of the cup...

I did say ‘give him a few games’ but if you come on midway through second half surely you get in the action to make an impression? It wasn’t another friendly. Just rang an alarm bell for me, that’s all.

Not got a prayer with our midfield as they are, Not seen enough of Varane but the rest do not pass the ball forward into space so his strength is running in behind but in our team that just does not happen. That`s how I see it as well. Not that a comment from from me will make your case any stronger, but anyway  |

We still have Chair to return, plus the hope that Saito and Dembele live up to their billing. Better service hopefully will suit Celar. Not gonna write him off yet as he's had 2 games in English football but not impressed so far.

Sticking to the idea of giving him a few games to be fair but I am worried. If this is the new way of buying based on stats then ‘computer says no’. (You could probably say that about all our new boys at the moment) Last night he comes on against poor opposition and doesn’t impose himself, just looks and plays exactly like Donkey. Frey, not that good and much less mobile than either of them, is always hassling defenders. I hope he works out but first impressions usually mean something. Donkey has had 4 bloody year so its only fair to give celar a bit of time. he deserves at least 20 games but like you, Al, i'm not too impressed at the moment. #givehimsometime |

Despite lack of goals so far, he could have had a couple even a few on chances he's had up until now.
I genuinely think when he gets off the mark the goals will flow.
He makes some lovely runs and you can see from the way he anticipates a ball coming in this guy knows where the goal is.
We have to remember also this is all very new to him. Team mates, the pace of the league, new surroundings etc.
I like the look of him and that's without a goal!

Team mates, the pace of the league, new surroundings etc. I like the look of him and that's without a goal! same here, hes clearly a goal scorer who's most at home in and around the box. you don't see much from him outside the box but that's okay given the players behind him and i'm sure he'll adapt in time and offer more build up play. he's always looking to shoot which is something we've not had in a long time. |

Can see Frey starting on Friday....hassles the back four a bit more.

I think the way Celar took his pen last night showed the lad has was it takes. Huge pressure, especially on the first penalty, but he had nerves of steel. Reckon he'll come good, and once he's broken his duck, the goals will start flowing.

Seems like the new boy is getting some stick from our fans after a goaless start with us. I like him and I think he will score a few goals for us. By the way we play and how he is playing in that team dictates that he not too many chances are created by us. Our midfield is an issue as Varane aside no one moves the ball quickly and our wide players put very few quality balls in the box. I watched a few clips of him at previous teams and his movement was what got him most of his goals with good quick through balls for him to run on to. Dembele in the number 10 role and Chair cutting in should help and I would hope he then goes on a run.
