I'd keep Dunne as our first choice RB.

dunne has been brilliant at RB so personally wouldn't ditch him as he's done nothing to warrant dropping.

Definitely did and from the hug he got from Marti at the end it looked like he’d responded to having it pointed out at HT.

Thought he really struggle first half yesterday Agreed and not for the first time which is why I asked the question. If we want to progress can we afford to carry players for half a game. Anyplayer can have a bad game or bad half but if it repeats too often the answer is no. Then again we do not know how good Ashby is but only one way to find out.

Frey starting to come good - partly because he was unfit and partly because it took a dozen or so games to fit into the team. Expect the same time frame from Varane and Celar- they are fitter but adapting to the Championship does not happen overnight.
Madsen should settle quicker coming from leagues closer to Championship style.

Frey Celar The first team you name is the 11 players I would like starting most of the time. My questions would be: isn't Saito more a left winger than a right winger? Appreciate the dilemma because Chair has to start left. I know Saito has played on the right but I thought only v occasionally? If he isn't great on the right realistically it means starting Andersen over Saito. more a quibble but isn't Masden a bit more left side than right, so should be to the left of Field?

Have we really seen enough of Santos to be putting him in a team ahead of Andersen or Smyth? Marti is a good user of subs and that will be key to our season.

Have we really seen enough of Santos to be putting him in a team ahead of Andersen or Smyth? Marti is a good user of subs and that will be key to our season. I’m only playing Santos there if it’s 3-5-2 as that needs WBs, which Santos is and Andersen isn’t. And whilst Smyth can track back, he is more of a winger.

I wouldn't put Saito in the starting 11, he gets dispossessed far too easily and is useless at defending. So if you're looking for a right winger, I'd go for Santos, who really impressed me v Luton second time around. And although Alan says 'have we seen enough of him', I think Marti will be a better judge of that than us! I tend to agree that Smyth works better as an impact sub, the same with Saito.

The success of our signings, Dembele aside, will depend on how they adapt to the really competitive nature of the Championship. Andersen for example, but applies to all of them - Can clearly play the game but has he needed to work so hard before, has he been used to more time on the ball and how will he cope with getting knocked about occasionally? This is how Marti will improve these players, if at all, and their values will rise.

For me the way I see it is the season Starts now
Squad is now complete with new signings Marti had 2-3 weeks to work with them Will judge from this Saturday onwards Really need Chair back too hes so important to the team
Think it will be good like the old rangers Saw a Nourry interview where he said We will never go back to direct football again whilst he is ceo even if we are losing Hard press fast football for the future now

Heads didn’t drop, Colback effective and not booked, new boy gets confidence booster, Frey terrific goal - so much about second half was encouraging.

Luton did have many chances though
So we need to tighten up still in midfield
In my opinion
