Would be good to get some on longer deals Chair Cook Jcs Colback Field To create a spine going forward for two years Not another year let alone 2 for Colback for me General. Isn't he 35? Part of the reason he keeps committing fouls (I suspect) is because he is off the pace.

Guess where I’m coming from is we have a good team now that we need secure Rather than all out of contract at the end of the season like most seasons past

Think we need to use the sign perm option asap, as if he keeps performing as well people will come sniffing and profit better in our bin than someone else

Think we need to use the sign perm option asap, as if he keeps performing as well people will come sniffing and profit better in our bin than someone else Club now extremely tight lipped about contracts. Think the Dembele announcement said words to the effect of “joins initially for a season long loan.” Implication is we have an option to buy at the end of it, presumably at a pre-agreed price, but not 100% clear. If he carries on as he has started then yes be sure to be worth a lot more at the end of this season than when we signed him.

I would suspect its already a done deal. I'd like to think so. Wondering if within a loan deal, with a option to buy at the end of that if that is concrete you get first dibs. Or within that year you are able to exercise that right to buy at any time.

At least shows some thought went into deals and not just loans with no benefit long term.
What is odd though is why do a deal which says you sign player on perm which is triggered by playing eight games that don’t seem sensible if it’s eight games just sign them from day one. Think we might be bring mislead on that one.

Hopefully there was some method in the madness...

Will be interesting to see what happens with Chair Well I think our performances to date have put to bed the idea that somehow we don't need him because he is greedy/ lacking end product. I like Dembele and think he has potential but he is not as effective as Chair yet (still hasn't scored a goal for eg). We need more attacking threat, not less. The optimist in me says that they will help each other as two skilful players. My hope is they are played near each other as the Illy and Willy partnership was at its most effective when they played as a pair. The danger is they are stuck on opposite wings and are both isolated.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Chair His absence so far this season has shown us Chair is quite clearly our main man (even for his faults).

Totally agree but I don’t think it was ever the idea to have them both in the same team. Chair moving on made perfect if unwelcome sense. The comment Marti made about ‘hope he stays’ has to be relevant. I reckon someone was in for him until the injury.

Think we might be bring mislead on that one. The way I'd look at that one with regards to Dembele is that it's clear he's class and his stats last year were fantastic so it was extremely low risk. Probably had to agree to the 8 games before someone else did. Maybe there was a small fee involved for those 8 games with a transfer fee after. Just guessing.

Dembele / Salter / Marti All great decisions by Nourry Hats off to him Thought you were suggesting dembele/ salter/ marti as the attacking midfield three for a minute there Gens. Mind you, couldn't be any worse...

Jan a totally different period he was never off in the summer. In all honesty who was going sign a player doing community service (with alleged dodgy back) and unavailable for first two months of the season?

Dembele is clearly a baller with a great touch but reminds me of an apprentice on a building site. You see them floating around but limited contribution leaving you hoping at some point they’ll kickstart the opportunity they’ve been handed.
