Need to watch the goals back, but my impression today was he had an excellent game.

Oh yes, excellent game overall but just their first is a niggling doubt for me...

need to watch the highlights back too but thought he had an excellent game too.
pulled off a crucial point blank save at one point that kept the score at 3-2. if middlesbrough scored then i think then they'd have gone on to win it imo.

Just looking at Ginge's sig and am curious:
Anyone know the last time a goalkeeper scored a goal in open play in both prem and champs, before Seny?

Thanks Corbs. And anyone know for the championship? just looked into it and the most recent one i could find was adam federici of reading against cardiff in december 2008 That's a long time ago. Pat Jennings famously scored one for Spurs in the 70s direct from a goal kick. Legend has it that Phil Parkes once did similar for us in an untelevised game, but that may be urban myth...

Think Dieng is carrying an injury as yesterday seemed very hesitant on coming for crosses.
Thus putting more pressure on our makeshift back 5/4/3

How humiliating they will love this they think they are a bigger club than us now

No problem with it at all. We know they have made decent money in sales for years now so if they want him they can pay premium for him.

I actually don’t think losing seny would be that much of an issue. For me he gets beat from outside the box far too often and also parries the ball back into dangerous areas when he really should be getting rid. Wouldn’t be the end of the world for me

Wouldn’t be the end of the world for me I think he's purpose built for a back up keeper role in the top flight myself. I'd only sell if the price was right and we had a reasonable alternative though, which right now we absolutely do not!

he's a very good keeper but i do think his form has dropped this season and he's conceded a few that he would have otherwise saved.
maybe the summer would be too soon to sell though? joe walsh doesn't seem anywhere near the first team yet.

Murphy Mahoney looked pretty good when he made his few cameos last season. Not saying he's a ready made replacement for Seny and I do still think we will need to get a replacement but it's not the end of the world if he does go.

Wouldn't have an issue with this at all.
Good keeper, not great. Got a howler in him more regularly than he should for an international keeper.
Get big bucks in and move him on. Couldn't care less who It's to either.

As for Mahoney, he cannot have had enough of a run for a judgment like that.

Mahoney won't make first choice at this level in my opinion. Walsh is a bit of an unknown, I think he's had issues with broken bones in his hands that has hindered his development.
What I will say is if money came in for Seny, it's quite easy to find experienced keepers that still have a season or 2 to offer at this level for minimal outlay. If there was a play to sell Seny, use the money to bolster our attacking options and sign a decent keeper at the end of his career on the cheap, it would be a no brainer for me.

What I want is a goalkeeper like Smithies used to be. Taking more penalities than not, but he is probably over the top.
