I will do West. I don't know if you were aware or not but Eze's younger brother, Chimaechi, is a striker in the U18's. Looks just like him too LOL. Is he any good? I'll ask Smegma Saturday

Are we close to seeing a young CB in the squad? Apart from Masterson?

Are we close to seeing a young CB in the squad? Apart from Masterson? I think Masterson is about it at the moment. 18 year old Joe Gubbins is probably the best defender in the U23's currently but a lot of this seasons U23's are last seasons U18's being pushed on, hence the poor results on paper. Charlie Owens can play there but is currently injured.

I've heard Alfa is a bit of a romeo and Faysal can't sit down, but apart from that they're great lads.

Anyone on here with much knowledge about the next batch of players coming through at the club? Any of them ready to step up and challenge for a place in the squad, as let's face it nows as good a time as any with all the departures and no replacements expected.
That Dalling looked alright in his cameo during the Swansea cup game.

That Dalling looked alright in his cameo during the Swansea cup game. Amrit Bansal-McNulty will be another cracker but it may be another season or so. Nathan Carlyle & Jake Frailing in the pipeline but not ready yet IMO. Faisal Bettache, Joe Gubbins, look as they could break into the first team but won't be another Eze or Chair. It will be interesting to see if Seny Dieng is in the frame for next season or, with the prospects of another season of leaking goals, he is kept away from the fans. I am still hoping Mide Shodipo fulfills his early promise, he may have to if BOS disappears. People like Ben Wells & Charley Kendall may come into the picture but Deshane Dalling is a bit of a weird one as all the players he played with when they first broke into the U23's are all in the first team or, like Paul Smyth, out on loan to get toughened up for men's football. I like Dalling, and he looks the part, but there may be something I am missing. Interesting times ahead.

If these guys are any good shouldn't they have already been on the bench and given a bit of game time by now? I remember posting a couple of seasons ago that Faisal Bettache looked like an Adel-Light in a cup game and he hasn't been seen since. Even with his injury record Shodipo should have made it by now but never gets a look in. I worry that we think we've got great youngsters. The Class of '92 was a one off, no one has done it since - not even Arsenal who had a fantastic reserve side 3 or 4 years ago. That's the spirit.

We seem to have a very promising midfielder in our U-23 team, I read that he has been out with an injury, but made a comeback a few weeks ago? A bit off topic maybe, but IMO, I feel that Shodipo is good enough for a first team spot. He impressed me when he came in as a sub late on against Blackburn. He is direct and delivers good crosses. What`s not to like??

So it doesn't strike you as odd that 'our future' never gets a place on the bench and a bit of a run out to see how they cope? It could also be that while the club goes through this season(I think we will be in a much better financial position come the summer) they don’t want to draw too much attention to our better youngsters. We are still over a barrel to an extent and they could be picked off for peanuts especially as they are effectively youth players. I think this could be a big summer for rangers as the effects of our restructuring start to bare fruit. I know that’s a stupidly positive way of looking at it I just think we’ve been through the roughest bits and with plenty of other clubs still to feel the full force of ffp next year could be interesting. I fucking hope so anyway

Despite reading threads elsewhere about only being able to name seven on the bench yesterday when we could have nine has still got me confused. We all know Gubbins was injured ,Cameron was suspended and Hall decided to leave the club but why can’t we throw more of the development squad or under 18s in there ?

Can only assume because none of them are ready and we would not put them on so what’s the point
Did they not say that aside from 1st team squad other sides have not returned

What’s the plan B ? i would have thought promoting a youngster would be a good learning curve irrespective if he didn’t make an appearance.

Why have the other sides not returned? Due to Corona restrictions?

They mentioned this on the commentary yesterday. None of the U18's or U23's are fit as they haven't been able to train properly yet.

Where is Esox when he’s needed..I thought Esox would be on to say that FFP prevents us bringing all the players back because of the expense of testing said players...only joking Esox I enjoy your common sense approach.
It would be a good opportunity for some youngsters to even be involved in match days at least at home matches ?
I pity DOF if Joe Lumley has to play CB and Hitman is around...not joking here !
i have seen some saying that loan players like Dieng Smyth etc that were on loan are deemed ineligible to play as season has finished for them ?

It was my grandsons birthday today and we masked up and drove up to see him in his garden. The academy sides & the women's side all had their seasons ended as lockdown was introduced and therefore have been unable to train since. I saw a few of the U23's in the first team training pictures on the official site but not many. AFAIK Seny can't play for us as he had already played for two clubs this season. Cameron should be back for Charlton and hopefully Gubbins. The wycombe lads may be available if WW don't make any progress in the play offs but that will be it I think.

Is that right Esox? I was reading up on this yesterday and the impression I got was any players that were on loan elsewhere 2nd half of this season won't be eligible for us for the remainder of our games.
