Agree Tarbs aside from Furlong i thought club got it spot on with his progression. He had a torrid time against Sanchez, I think, but aside from that you could see he was going make it and although fans used to say he was out of position I never agreed can’t remember him Having to many bad games in the hoops. I think we under valued him when he left.
I also think if your good enough and standout then You’re going to play. I think as fans we have this romantic memory that kids should be playing and it’s travesty they’re not. Think the fact is and this is my opinion they don’t play as they are simply not good enough. Who has not played that would have made any difference last few seasons??? Not entertaining Duke as he just looks a solid player no more no less. Who has slipped through the net who was head and shoulders above the rest and would have brought something different? Imo no one
Looking forward I think Drew has something about him so keen keep eye on him possibly Armstrong, but I’m reluctant to be taken in by the hype and hysteria around him.
Chair good enough got in team and Eze good enough and got in, Furlong good enough and got in who am I missing?
Three kids breaking into first team in recent times I’m guessing is reasonable record

i trust the club more on this than us fans tbh. they're the ones working day in day out with these players and know them on a personal level. lots of players have been rushed into teams and it fucked their career, look at michael johnson of man city as a prime example. very talented player who had too much too soon and ended up retiring at 25 or something.
young adults tend to take things to heart and if say, aaron drewe made a huge error in a game he'd probably get absolutely torn to shreds by fans which could end up messing up his development.
we have good people in the club for youth development imo, especially so with the academy players training within a stones throw from the first team.

U23 squad now scrapped it seems. Replaced with U21s.
Also both U21 and U18 squads are now gone from the official website....

Don't know what that means in practical terms but it seems the youth set up undergoing a much needed shake up. For me like to see focus moved from trying to develop our own young players who hardly ever make it to trying to get the best of the rejects from the top clubs and developing them for sell on value - JSC probably falls into that category. |

I would guess every U21 game is recorded but even limited highlights/goals are never put out by the the club, yet so called other smaller clubs manage it.Here’s an example without doing any research.
I know we’re talking another level but I saw recently Villa are offering their fans full coverage home and away of all U21 games for £50 via their club equivalent to QPR+

That's great news. Good move putting Armstrong in the team and great that he's rediscovered his goalscoring form. Keep that up for the U21s and he's back in the first team in no time.
