Charlie Charlie Charlie Charlie Charlie Charlie Charlie Austin Lyndon Lyndon Lyndon Lyndon Lyndon Lyndon Lyndon Liability..... You’re toxic mate, and you clearly know shit about football. Other than his bad miss today, Dykes played well against, I would assume decent defenders since they’re in the Premiership.

I was worried that the number on the shirt referred to his age. Welcome Charlie. Anyone who played at Wembley is an Rs hero. Bar Traore.

The team can’t buy a goal at the moment, obviously the Strikers will bear the majority of the burden for that. Dykes had 1 chance today and he fluffed it badly (although I doubt that many of you noticed that he had the pace to get the chance, and is probably the only QPR attacker other than BOS who has that kind of pace and strength against the Fulham centre half’s). But go watch the match again and see how much of the good QPR attacking play went through him. I was overall happy with the teams performance and I think that the results will come if the team keep putting in those kind of performances. I think the team just needs a bit of luck, a break to go their way. I feel that the team is close to turning things around, hopefully Charlie will aid in that. Hopefully a good result on Tuesday will be the start of that and some momentum and confidence can be built up.

It's also an old Rangers song, which I suspect you wouldn't know about. Mate you’re in every thread saying he’s this and that. QPR bought him for just over £1million, basically pennies in the Championship, he’s caused the Fulham defence all sorts of problems, set up good chances for other players, worked his socks off, pressing their defence. Ok he missed a good chance, his only opportunity, most strikers need a few opportunities every game to score. Most great strikers will miss 2 or 3 chances before they stick one away. As I said for a little over £1 million he helped cause a Fulham defence full of players who cost a lot more than him problems and you’ve not got a good word to say about him. Fair play, but you’re talking shit

Especially when talking to online mates, not being there in person to oooh and aaaah. And boo if needs be. I pay my money and have an opinion. I've seen almost every game Lyndon's played in, and I ain't been impressed. If I ever am, and you're around, you'll know. I'm inconstant like that. And where Rangers are concerned a total and complete Nihilist. But he's benched as far as I'm concerned for the moment with Charlie and Kelman up in a 352. At present you and Hitman are his only admirers. Enjoy your evening.

Yeah ok, mate, it’s all about opinions. Austin and Dykes for me on Tuesday. Going by today’s performance Kellman doesn’t look ready yet.

Just watched the interview with Chaz. He looks and sounds bang up for it. Rangers was clearly the happiest time of his career. Out of contract in august at WBA too. It’s written in the stars. I just hope he gets to score in front of the loft with fans in attendance because if he does the roof is coming off. Welcome home number 9 ❤️

Confidence and momentum are huge in football, I think the last few performances have been encouraging, if the team can get a result on Tuesday, I think it would be huge for the squad, it would lift a big weight from them, mentally.

Great interview and really looking forward to seeing him back in the hoops. Not going to be the same player as before he left but the one thing that is the same is that goals do not move and Austin knows where the onion bag is.

RS I know your keen Dykes succeeds (we all are despite views and comments) and you see something in him that plenty of us don’t but I hand on heart have never watched him and thought he’s quick. I know he ran away from their CB (think hector) but that don’t make him quick might just be the CB is not that fast. I’m not suggesting Dykes is slow just that he’s prob average in pace
What did concern me about his miss is that’s the second opportunity he has had when he’s through on goal no real pressure from defender and he’s blazed it high and wide. That chance was more or less identical to the one he blazed wide at Brentford. To not keep it on target and draw a save from the keeper is pretty poor. We’re not good enough waste chances like that.
He scores Brentford we get a point, he scores yesterday were in round 4. Small margins with long term significant impacts

Would Charlie be in line for a Sam Allladice type bonus for securing our survival this year ?
certainly would not begrudge him one if he does produce the goods.

Have to say I was a bit meh about this given his patchy form since leaving us and his time on the treatment table or the bench. Having watched his interview though, I'm excited. Charlie is a big part of our recent history, he has a chance now to cement himself as a player we'll be talking about for years to come. And he would've buried those bloody sitters missed yesterday. Shouldve won 4-0. Glad he's back.

He scores Brentford we get a point, he scores yesterday were in round 4. Small margins with long term significant impacts He does have pace, I’d expect him and BOS are probably the quickest players in QPR’s squad. It’s one of the reasons he caught the eye of the Scotland manager, it’s been a long time since we’ve had someone who has a physical presence and has pace, mobility. There is different types of “pace”, of course. Someone like Chair is probably faster than Dykes over 5-10 yards, being small and “nippy”, he has. a quick burst. But over longer distances Dykes is fast and has the pace to run the channels against “international” class defenders. The miss yesterday was poor, there’s no denying it, he’s snatched at it, I think that’s a n indication/ sign of his lack of confidence. I can’t honestly remember him doing that against Brentford. Didn’t he score against Brentford? A goal which actually shows his pace over distance. The point I was making is it seems some posters will slaughter Dykes no matter what he does, which is fair enough, that’s their prerogative. But as I said in my above post, if you take away his miss, he actually played pretty well against decent defenders. Same against Norwich, he helped create or was involved in the creation of a couple of chances / goal-scoring opportunities, which weren’t taken. Again, against a decent level of opposition. Obviously he can be slated for his lack of goals, but I think it’s only fair to mention what he’s been doing right, and he has been doing quite a bit right in other aspects of his overall game. And I also wonder what exactly some QPR fans think that they should get in a player who cost little more than £1 million and who was known to be a “work in progress”? I think some here seem to expect the finished article. Remember QPR have put a lot of weight on shoulders in his first season in the championship, it’s not went they way any of us had hoped, but he’s not done as badly as some are trying to make out either. Anyway I think that the signing of Austin will hopefully help Dykes, Bonne, Kellman etc, in their development and will help the team/squad get the goals that they need to begin getting results and picking up points. And he’ll hopefully help the other strikers develop as players by training with them day in, day out. I’ve got to say, I’ve been quite encouraged by the last few performances and I believe if the team keeps playing to that level, it’s only a matter of time before they do begin to pick up 3 points, especially with the addition of Austin. I hope that once that happens, the confidence will return to the players and they will be a little more relaxed, calm in front of goal. And to be fair to Warburton, he has adapted and he has implemented changes that were needed. For example, corners look a lot better yesterday, from both Carroll and Chair. Perhaps another day, QPR would’ve scored from one. They team is “hard to beat”, it looks like the opposition are going to have to work hard to get a goal now. And at the same time, QPR are still creating chances, some very good chances. There’s definite improvement and it just needs a goal or two, I think. Hopefully Austin will provide that beginning on Tuesday. Hopefully that will relieve the pressure and lead to points on the board and moving up the table. I think if you take a step back and be honest and objective, about the recent performances, the squad isn’t far away from being a decent mid-table team. Which on QPR’s transfer budget and wage structure would be a decent season.

Leaving aside the fact that no one in the entire squad can manage a decent cross or set piece above ground, and leaving aside the fact a few goals will simply cover up the systemic problems within the club on a temporary basis, this is a reasonable piece of business.
The fact that Chorley Town provided way more threatening service to their strikers than this regime's version of QPR made me want to throw up.

Charlie Austin won’t be tarnishing his name at QPR whatever the outcome as far as I’m concerned.
I’m certain Charlie won’t be slow in telling MW what needs to be said.

Watched his interview and whilst it was great to hear soundbites such as “the name or number on the back aren’t as important as the badge on the front”, about 3 and a half minutes in, he said the most relevant thing of all.
“I’M A GOALSCORER”.
It’s the thing we have been missing the most.
