He's come in and shored up our defence, would be disappointed if we let him go.

He is a bit like Onuoha; He is prone to the occational error, but valuable to have in the team when the going gets tough.

I think Lynch is better as he at least doesn' t kick the ball into the stands.

I would argue best defender at the club

I've got no issue with the ball at his feet. Only got to look at the assist against Luton to see what he can do.
Proper defender and I'd agree that he is probably the best CB we've got at the club.

Great game by Tony for sure. That collection of headers and clearances is pretty impressive for one game.

Since he came on against Wigan at home when Warbs changed the formation he's literally become unplayable. He's been a rock of that defence.
I think he's improved a lot since we first signed him.

A lot of them have improved under W. Given a specific job to do and stuck with it. Properly organised.

I would like us to get that monkey off our backs though, and keep a clean sheet. True, we could do with cutting out some of the individual errors at the back. But at the same time, we seem to just have this "we're gonna score 1 more than you" mentality. It should make for an entertaining season!

It's not just about clean sheets, it's improving our GD too which can prove vital come the business end of the season.

McClaren brought him in because he was supposedly decent on the ball and could play out. Then suddenly lots of people saying he doesn't fit Warburtons playing out of defence plan ...maybe his nickname throws people. Best all round ch at the club.

players like leistner are needed at the heart of defence in the style of football we're playing. he's not as smooth as barbet or hall on the ball but its hardly like he's inept. cracking player at this level who'll fight for and organize the team

Youve got to hand it to him the way he seized his chance when he came on as sub to make a three. That's a proper pro. OK I'm in, now try dropping me.

Warbs never seemed that keen on him from the off but fair to leistner he did bounce back for a bit.
Who current CB options if he goes? Masterson, hall, forgotten man barbet and Geoff?

Hall off in the summer as well
Who was that Scottish CB we had links to in the summer? Could see those resurface
