If this is true then I'm sure there must be a defender coming in. Somebody close to the club told me that Leistner is our highest earner. If so, I'm sure we have probably been quietly looking to get him off the books. I don't think Warburton has ever particularly liked the look of him.

He did come on a free, but from second division in Germany. Realistically what would he be on here? I woulda thought likes of Hall, Geoff and departed Wells would be above him in the earning column If he is our highest earner then doesn't harm to get the wage off the books given his position within the squad

Not happy about this at all. I think the BFG is possibly our most reliable defender. Doesn't make sense.

But we were/are only paying something like 50% of their wages. Cameron I believe is on something like 15 grand a week. I'd guess Leistner is similar.

Warbs never seemed that keen on him from the off but fair to leistner he did bounce back for a bit. Who current CB options if he goes? Masterson, hall, forgotten man barbet and Geoff? Given our squad the fact MW didn't fancy him much says more about him that it does the BFG who never let us down.

Would not let him go on loan unless we’re getting juicy fee don’t see sense in that Probably more about getting his wage off the books Let's say he's on around 15k a week. That's a saving of roughly 300k for this season.

Days of shit or bust are gone

Probably around the 10k mark? That's another 200k roughly saved although I think we could've done with keeping him with the leistner news and Smith going back to Citeh.

Just read his tweet on twitter. That don’t sound like a man who has gone on loan he’s off for good

Better have a defender lined up because for 22 games this season, the BFG has been a solid and reliable option at CB (IMO).

The tragedy is, Mush, we've been shit defensively with him, but look poorer without him. Imagine if the geniuses running the show had sent Masterson out on loan? Thank Christ Brentford gave us that first half kicking.

Braut Haaland must be afraid now. Leinstner is quick.

I too prefer Hall and Masterson. The geniuses running the show would have sent Masterson out on loan to Crewe had Brentford not given us that kicking.

Leistner had his first start for Cologne today. They kept a clean sheet and beat his old rivals Hertha Berlin 5-0 in Berlin!!! Well done Toni. Must have been sweet.

Warbs might need back down on this one as not sure we'll be able to get better than Toni at this point

From what I've heard Leistner and MW didn't see eye to eye pretty much from day 1.

I thought I saw a comment from him that he would definitely not be returning to QPR..don’t know the legality of his comment but think he still has a year to run on his contract here.
