Geoff Cameron says he would like to return to QPR on loan next season.
The American, back in training after an ankle injury, is on loan from Stoke City, where his contract runs until 2020. He does not expect to play for Stoke again and a permanent move to Loftus Road this summer is equally unlikely, given Rangers’ financial limitations. But Cameron, 33, believes another loan move might be an option.
“I’ve got another year at Stoke but it’s probably best for both parties if I go elsewhere,” he said. “Whether that would be permanent, I don’t know at this stage. “But if it was a loan and I were able to choose which club, then definitely I would like to go back to QPR on loan if that’s possible. “I don’t know what the contract situation will be this summer but if there’s an opportunity of another loan then I’d like to be at QPR again next season.
“I have 100% enjoyed it there and enjoy playing for Steve McClaren. “He’s a really good manager and it’s a good environment to play in, it’s just frustrating that I got injured when I did.”
Cameron moved to west London at the end of August, having faced a period of uncertainty after the then Stoke manager Gary Rowett told him he would not play for the Potters this season.
It is a situation the player is keen to avoid a repeat of this summer. He said: “I think the most important thing for me is that it’s decided soon enough for me to know where I’m going to be so I can have a full pre-season this time.” ‘Frustrating time’ Cameron is unavailable for QPR’s game against Stoke on Saturday as he is ineligible to play against his parent club. But he hopes to return to action in next week’s home match against Rotherham – more than three months after being sidelined by a crude challenge from Leeds’ Kalvin Phillips. Cameron said: “I’ve been training and obviously I can’t play on Saturday, so next week is the target. It would be great to get some minutes in that game. “It’s been a frustrating time. I hoped to get back sooner but the ankle specialist I saw at the time always said it would be eight to 12 weeks. “I felt I was playing my best football in a long time, and the team were playing really well, and then this injury came along.”

Put a message up tonight thanking the fans for his support at the club this heat and saying he was honoured to play for the club.
I think the club should do everything they can to bring him back next season. He offers a lot of experience as imo os a very good player at this level.
Was very unlucky with injury this year but when he plays we are a better team.
I hope he’s back in a QPR shirt next season.

Made those around him better and gave a real balance to the team.

Doubt we can afford him. This is going to be the costcutters Rangers for the next couple of years. That's why I think Warburton is the right pick. The complete opposite of someone like Arry, who couldn't work with players unless he'd conned the club in parting with multimillions.

If the numbers I've heard we paid for Hemed, Wells and Cameron are anywhere near accurate we won't be seeing any of them again. I'd like to see Cameron back, but the only way it's happening is if Stoke fancy doing us a favour!

Would have been up there with Freeman as POTY had it not been for his injury (by the that dirty Leeds bastard), with Macca probably still in a job too.
Still, as ever, we move on and wish him well.

I suspect it is nowhere near the numbers bandied about/suspected.

I think the reason we got them late after the window had shut was to swerve the high loan fees Prem clubs were charging The downside is we've paid high wages for the year Ive heard well north of £100k a week for the four

Don't know Point is more that at £25-30k a week equals £1.25 - 1.5 mill each, thats £5-6 mill the four for the season Three only played half a season For a club suffering under FFP with limited income, thats wasted money with no player to show for it (or sell on)

I believe Hemed was slightly less or the same and Wells slightly more but all on the same 50% contribution.

I was given some numbers by someone close to the club this week. From the basic maths I've done (estimating that we'll need somewhere around 20 to 22 first team players in the squad) our average salary next season needs to be well below 10k a week. As I said above, a deal for Cameron would be close to impossible. What we need to do is work the free transfer market.

A couple of mates and me were told quite freely by someone I felt should have known better about discussing such things, that Wells and Hemed were being paid £25k and £35k per week respectively. Could all have been nonsense of course, but this person would have known, I’m sure. If true, we certainly hadn’t got past the days of having our pants pulled down. 😡

My rumour was £20k for Hemed and £15k Wells and Cameron. Still a hefty chunk. Hemed and Cameron only started 33 games between them and were subbed off 13 times.

Awesome, he was solid last season and as I said in a previous post we need a midfield enforcer.

Geoff would be very welcomed, but are we going to sign any strikers? Or is Oteh enough and we don't need any reinforcements?
