He's a better player than he's shown tonight mate. He's also certainly a better player than Shodipo. There is a reason Spurs parted with 10m quid for Clarke, but for whatever reason he seems to have gone off the boil this season. Leeds only selected him 3 times during his loan there first half of the season. Don't know how you can say that, based on what evidence? The few times I saw Shodipo play he looked like a blinding prospect. Based on the evidence that Shodipo has been in or around the first team here for 3 years without ever really breaking through or really chipping in with any goals or assists. Also Clarke was making mincemeat of defences in this division last season. Hence Spurs decided to pay 10m quid for him. As I say though, that move and subsequent loan back to Leeds also seems to have coincided with a loss of form. I promise you though, if he can find his form again with us you'll be eating your words. |

Hubs, no doubt Shodipo has had a tough time with injuries, but not this season. If he was doing the right things in training and looking good enough for the first team he'd be getting a game. Injuries or not, the last 3 managers haven't been selecting him. I think he'll go when his contract expires in the summer and will find his level a division or 2 down the football league.
Can't judge Clarke too much on tonight. He hasn't been getting game time at Leeds and probably isn't as match fit as he could be. Lets see, I know a couple of Leeds fans who were pretty excited about him when he burst into the first team. And lets be honest, Levy ain't spending 10m quid on a teenager unless the scouts at Spurs thought he was going to make a good player.
