Sometimes - often in fact - you can overthink things - especially in football - and I reckon that's what happens with Warbs. He's clearly a cerebral kind of manager, which has pros and cons. The cons are when you put out a disjointed squad like he did last night, with various aims - such as integrating players or giving those low on confidence a chance - and expect it to work out. Play your best team for something as serious (to me and lot of us I reckon) as the FA Cup. Who wouldn't love a cup run? I'm sure the club would also love the money. And the thing is, when you do what Warbs did last night and it backfires - as it did, with Lumley for example - and you lose - then you're worse off than if you'd played your best team anyway. Last night was a very winnable game. Opportunity missed.

He's clearly a cerebral kind of manager and yet he's not great in play, which is normally where your strategists come out on top. He's just not very good at adapting, getting them to play whats in front of them instead of just sticking blindly to plan A. Last night was such a missed opportunity on so many levels, its not like they were that good. They just knew exactly how we'd play, they countered it and he had no answers. This has happened before......

Exactly we were totally sussed and MW reacted to late and just stubbornly stuck to plan a even when we did play a ball over the too (3 times)it caused s.weds problems, didnt change when that was clear to most

Yup shrewsbury reckon £1m from the replay at Anfield.
It's crazy really. We're a selling club apparently, we're going nowhere but an opportunity presents itself & we don't turn up until its way too late. We didn't want it.

Never understand resting players and changing a winning team when faced with a cup tie. Makes no sense to just chuck the chance away.
