I am 30 but class Chelsea and only CHelsea as our proper rivals. The more we play Brentford and Fulham the more they annoy me but only a hatred for Chelsea. Maybe a bit of jealously of Brentford atm. New ground, good team, well run. Shit fans though. It will always be them. Fucking pikeys

It will be interesting to see how we will play against them, but IMO we have to run at them regardless how solid in possession they have been season. Wells & Co will literally have to work their socks off, I think. What really matters for us is our off the ball performance. We have to get tight and mark up when that ball is lost. When we've been poor this has been the common factor because it just hasn't happened. No side can press for 90m, its selective, but there have been times when we haven't pressed at all and should have. Increasingly a side's ball lost performance is the key determinant in outcome. MW's apparent inability to get to grips with this worried me, but there are signs that things maybe changing. When so many Creative players are playing as well as they do these days, I do really agree with you.

Never got why the bees don't like us , they've never been on my radar ... Used to hire cars off a bees fan in Richmond he hated us with a passion . Tough game sat would jump at a draw It was always local pride but then we proposed putting them out of business in the 1960s and then it became hatred. If you read Essox's post it puts a different slant on that mate.

I was well aware of that particular article and it's true that the then current Brentford Chairman did not cover himself in glory. Anyway the final outcome was you guys enjoyed huge success including in the old first division/premiership whilst we spent 45 odd years in the bottom 2 divisions trying to repay debt and frightened to spend anything. In 1970 we had a playing staff of 14 including 2 keepers! If anyone offered us anything for a player we snapped the wrists off not a chance of a haggle. The stadium was cut down and land sold off as well. I used to alternate between the Bees and Rangers every other Saturday in the Bowles Francis, Parkes, Clement, Gillard and Thomas era so have always been interested.

Denis Signy was a respected employee and as someone who remembers this story when it happened I would have no reason to believe any of it had been fabricated. Then, as now, the fans were fed what the club(s) wanted them to hear. Jim Gregory was no saint, and not everyone thought he was a saviour, but he wasn't alone as a driving force in those shenanigans. Quite a lot of the QPR fans I knew back then were very sympathetic over Brentford's plight and would have supported any protests that might have been arranged. It was only later when the original hub bub had died down, and QPR fans had little contact with them, that this hatred of QPR has built up, over a twisted version of the truth.

What is the reason behind Brentford sucess when it comes to player recruitment? Is it all down to a well driven academy?

Think they rely on algorithm which I’m amazed works in player selection but credit where it’s due it seems too

Brentford have never been on my radar personally, other than Fluff Freeman's infamous 'Brentford Nylons' adverts from the '70s as he rolls up in his beige Jenson Interceptor convertible. Not 'arf! 😎

What is the reason behind Brentford sucess when it comes to player recruitment? Is it all down to a well driven academy? We don't have an academy. We shut it down 3 years ago because it cost a fortune to run and we got fed up with the likes of Man U, City and Arsenal pinching all our best products for peanuts before they signed professional contracts. Instead we run a B team that is not in a league. We play friendlies against top teams reserves/under 23s from all over Europe (including QPR). The team is made up of signings from lower league clubs and players from other sides academy's who haven't made the grade but who we think may still have a decent future in the game. Seems to work. We have 4 or 5 in the current first team squad, who play, 4 or 5 out on loan to other league clubs including Forss at Wimbledon and the biggest success to date Chris Mepham who we sold to Bournmouth for circa £12m.

In recent times the hatred became more known when Rowlands fucked them off to join us when Holloway was manager 1st time around.

Another reason to dislike them: bloody bri-nylon, which I utterly unfairly associate with Brentford because of Brentford bloody nylons and that relentless bloody ad campaign that made millions believe nylon was a better material to wear than cotton, including my mum, who bought me and my brother nylon bloody pyjamas to go with our nylon bloody sheets, a static electricity bloody bean-feast.

Heading to Dorking Wanderers vs Stockport County this afternoon so will miss our game as it happens on TV but am recording it to watch when I get back... Reckon I'll be coming back to watch a bit of a thrashing to be honest. Brentford 5 QPR 0 is my fear. You from Dorking? We might know each other!
