They just said on Sky that their new ground will increase their turnover by 50%
Doubling there turnover simply because of new ground/facilities. We need to get our ground over the line as we could slip from west London’s second biggest club to fourth biggest

Unfortunately while that man is actively involved things will never change and we will continue to drift. As for the comparison with Brentford we are a million miles from where they are. New stadium almost built, Good transfer policy where they buy and sell with a profit which is used to re invest in the playing squad.

I would watch Brentford very closely and not hold them as the bar as if the wheels are going to come off it will be next two three seasons. Yes they have new ground but it’s been downsized twice and fans are unhappy. The guy who was behind there blinding recruitment policy is sadly no longer with us so it will be interesting to see how they move going forwards

A new stadium is a big investment for a club at this level with a relatively small fan base. It's bound to impact the amount of money they have to spend in the transfer market.

They have increased the Corporate area thus in theory increasing matchday income.

Think they scaled back pretty drastically the plans on capacity and corporate and rumour this was why Devlin got jogged on

Sensibly run on a budget but I'd like to see if they change their principles regarding spending money if there is a sniff of getting into the PL.

Stadium looks good in the virtual tour. Only half a mile from Griffin Pk. No doubt they will get better crowds than us over the next few years I think...unless we somehow get promoted.

13.866 for us last year. With a new stadium, I can see them beating that.

Gonna sound a tad harsh to some, I know, but personally I'd find an epic collapse at Brentford incredibly funny. Fuck em.

where is the Brentford support coming from? Like us their traditional areas where their support came from are now predominately new arrivals who will follow Arsenal or Chelsea

Like us their traditional areas where their support came from are now predominately new arrivals who will follow Arsenal or Chelsea i think some of their support comes from supporters like me. up until i was about 10-11 years old and we got promoted from league 1 i was a chelsea supporter but didn't like how chelsea started spending money and the direction they were going so i wanted to support a different smaller team on the up and i really liked ollie and what he was doing here plus QPR as a team name name. i imagine a lot of brentford fans are the same in that they don't wanna follow a big club as they seem to have a fair few early 20s fans at games from what i've seen.

Most of their new supporters will be confused not to see Middlesex Town when they turn up at that ground.

They have increased the Corporate area thus in theory increasing matchday income. Hi there Bee in peace here. Thought you might appreciate some correct info on our new stadium. The capacity is 17,250 cut once from 20,000. The site is very constricted triangle surrounded by railway lines. The build to get the extra 2,750 was just too difficult not cost effective so the second tier on one stand was removed. The new stadium includes a lot of corporate seating compared to virtually zero at GP. This is via 2 large corporate lounges with dedicated seating in the main stand rather than boxes. There will only be six boxes. As for cost the main outlay was for the land bought circa 8 years ago for circa £10m. The site will include some 900 homes. We got planning for this and our development partners provide us with the stadium plus circa £30m in return for the land for their flats and Griffin Park which will be built on. So no great outlay due from us to complete the stadium. As far as our future transfer policy is concerned obviously the death of Robert at 28 hit everyone badly and coinsided with losing Dean Smith. Unsurprisingly we went on a very bad run mid-season. Robert whilst an important cog was only a small part with our joint DoFs still in place and Thomas Frank being an inside appointment. So hopefully the system continues. We've raked in circa £60m net over the last 4 years but have to accept we lose one or 2 top players every year. Enough from me. Looking forward to our mini London league in the new season. Cheers Manti.

You happy with17k?? I've supported them over 55 years and seen Griffin Park cut down from just under 40,000 capacity (you lot tried to buy and close us in 67 to get your hands on that) to 12,500 now. In that time the biggest crowds I've been in was 19,000 twice in our 72 4th division promotion season and similar v Liverpool in the league cup in the mid80's. I think 17,250 will be fine but not all supporters are happy. I'd rather a full buzzing stadium rather than a half empty one of 30k.

They are struggling to sell out at the moment. Only got the top tier and not sold out. They won't open it unless they sell out the top tier yet a lot of their fans are waiting for the lower tier so they can stand.
Catch 22 for them but Brentford clearly doesn't back them to sell the lot of they would just open it all in one go.

Problem is if u call on lower and can't fill it u still have to pay for all the seats , Swansea. Complained about this a few years ago

I tried to explain that on a Brentford forum where they were moaning that we wouldn't let them sell the lower at the same time as upper. I pointed out the above and that it was their club who are doing this for fear of losing money.
They then went to say how we are robbing them and I pointed out that we dont have to give those seats up and that all the clubs that can offer a bigger allocation, do the same thing.

You obviously haven't been upstairs in your own away end. It's nearly all restricted view can't see the near goal! Anyway we try to arrange it so sitters go upstairs and standers down. We're finally coming into form with our new team. You're doing well under Warbs - should be a great local derby!
