Going to Brentford's new ground Saturday (for my sins). London Irish vs Leicester Tigers. In the posh seats. Looks pretty impressive to be fair.

Not 100% sure mate. They do this thing called Ticket+ where you get more comfortable seats with access to the same bars/lounges as some of the hospitality tickets. Quite a good idea to be fair. Not quite as lumpy as corporate, but a slightly better experience than standard tickets and should be easier to get a beer. lounge is also open 2 hours before and an hour after the game. Should be ideal for taking out clients (as I'm doing this weekend).

My bro went there to watch Irish play someone (his kids were doing a walk around the pitch as they go to London Irish training on a Sunday in Sunbury). He said it's a great stadium, great facilities. Amazing to think that fans still think we don't need to move from LR.

My ST is opposite the main stand on the HW line. Very happy with it. So much more room than at GP and loads of catering facilities. Easy to get a beer or pie - but no burgers! Didn't like the multi coloured seats to begin with but you don't actually notice them once inside.

The multi coloured seats look shit but are actually a clever idea to avoid blocks of colour/empty seats when the place isn’t full - not that that will be a problem this season.

Easy to get a beer or pie - but no burgers! Didn't like the multi coloured seats to begin with but you don't actually notice them once inside. and regrets at all in relocating or it’s all for the best? We were at GP circa 120 years. It used to be a great stadium that held 40,000. But slowly that got cut as stands were pulled down and the land sold off or they were cut in half for safety reasons. It was worn out. The catering was virtually non existent. The toilets a disgrace. Could only do 60 in hospitality. The upper seats in the away end struggled to hold a 12 year old and the view downstairs was shit. The home bits were OK to view from if you ignored the girders. I loved it - it was home for 60 years for me and a night under the lights was always special. However it has taken 20 odd years to get Lionel Road built (ldentifying the land, buying it, getting approval and actually building it). I'd say most fans are delighted with it. The atmosphere inside has been fantastic as we are still very close to the pitch. We can do 3,000 premium seats in the main South Stand with lounges rather than boxes. That's a huge increase in revenue. Best of all its only 1/2 a mile from GP so we can still park in our normal places and use our normal pubs. But just over the road is Kew Bridge and the river with all the pubs on the towpath. It really is an ideal location. Hope you can come soon!

It would have been very difficult to have played in the PL at GP. Standing would have been banned. Either upstairs or down at the away end would have become the media centre. Away dressing room would need to have been in a Portacabin out front as the existing one at GP was tiny. It could have been done but capacity would have only been circa 9,000. We can't fit all the registered fans into Lionel Road so god knows how they would have allocated the tickets. BTW those of you that wonder why our gates are not sell outs at the 17,250 capacity it's because of what we lose due to segregation and the isolation area around the team and officials.

I dread to think how much we lose from people not wanting to come because of queues, shit views (pillars and not seeing either the goal or corners). Then it's the money lost due to people not getting drinks/food at half time or before the game. Then add the fact that we can't do concerts or anything. I love LR, I think it's amazing. But you need to evolve. I even get wet as the roof leaks above my seat in Y block!

Didn't have to queue more than 5 minutes for a pint at any stage.
