Ned, in his podcast, said the American game builds itself around superstar players- eg Rooney v that Swedish bloke who played briefly for Man U- so what fans there are follow players, not teams. When the players leave, so too do the fans. That's what the wankers running the game want to happen here. Superstar after superstar. There are some fucking horrible people running football at present. I can't see any way back. But, as I say, I only watch the Rs. I looked at the England lineup just now and have only heard of three of the players. The rest could be pop stars for all I know.
