Any updates on his injury?

Dykes has been poor to be fair. But he's been made to look worse by being asked to play as an isolated lone striker in a side that was creating very little in open play. I've watched every game he's played for Scotland and he looks half decent in that side.
I think he just needs a goal or 2 and we might start seeing more of what he can do.

I still feel he may come good. He's not got goals like we all would've hoped but he's shown some good touches and had a few decent performances, particularly in Charlie's first game back.

It’s a funny ole game I’m sure both MW and Steve Clarke are delighted with his recent performances. We all see the game differently

Equally possible then that that says more about them than Dykes

To be fair to hits I don't think anyone wants someone wearing Hoops to fail but you don't have to think they are all heroes either. I hope Dykes gets a hattrick on Saturday - it won't make it suddenly all OK but it will suggest he can get better. The fact remains that he is a non-striking striker who is very lucky to have been given so long without someone else getting a chance. And one assist in 25 doesn't make him a valuable member of the team as rscot keeps banging on about (while he nit-picks about Chair, which is absurd in comparison).

Dykes is probably a signing heavily motivated by Marbs time in Scottish football and as such will continue to be selected irrespective of form or ability.
Both Manager and player are very fortunate to continue in their current roles at the club.

dykes is a doubt for saturdays game now. it'll be interesting to see how bonne gets on as he hasn't had a fair chance in the first team despite doing well in his cameos

Hits wrote off LTC earlier in the season too but I'm sure, as any genuine QPR fan, he (and many others) were delighted to be proved wrong there...and doubtless the same would apply to Dykes...just as I'm sure he was delighted with Warnock when he got us promoted!!

The player for Scotland is not the player we are seeing. Have to say he looked lost last night and think a few games on the bench would do him the world of good.

Looked out of his depth last night. Maybe Chaz is showing him Up a bit too because he’s playing so well but dykes, once again, offered absolutely nothing

Agreed. Hope it’s just a difficult first season adapting but his confidence is on the floor. Does practically nothing at present and was like playing with 10 men until he went off. Really want him to come good but he’s seriously got to pull his finger out now

If I was him I would now put scoring goals on the back burner for now and focus on bringing something else to the team weather that is winning free kicks, hold up play or roughing up CB because as you say 82 currently he brings nothing
Can’t be easy for him, confidence must be on the floor so for me start doing few things consistently and doing them well so your bring something to the table then hopefully goals will follow

In recent history strikers like Zamora, Helguson and Furlong all took a while to come good and took absolute pelters from some fans until they did. But they eventually turned it around to the extent they literally become club legends in the end. It took a combination of great mental strength and good management to achieve that. Could Lynden potentially be in the same category as the above players, who similarly, fans had lost complete faith in at the time?

Thing about those three was they all had pedigree of doing it at a similar but mostly higher level. Dykes is now 25 years old so he’s not a kid and I’ve seen very little to suggest he’s even a striker let alone to the level we require. Willing to give him more time but he can think himself very fortunate that there’s not a crowd to play in front of. The chances he does get he shows very little composure or nous. Think next year is make or break for him personally

i do still think he'll come good, i paid special attention to him last night and he wasn't terrible per sey. yeah he let a couple of clear chances go begging but he was a presence up top at times. still wouldn't have given him any higher than a 6/10 but i see him coming good for us one day.
you gotta bare in mind he's had a meteroic rise from playing australian sunday league, to QoS and then the scottish prem and has always made the step up in time. obviously the championship is a massive step up but he doesn't look completely lost unlike washington for example

It does send out the wrong message to other players. Don't get it at all.

Didn't think he was that bad today. I reckon he just needs a goal.

Not excelled so far but we have to hope that he will come good for us. He plays much better for Scotland in international football so I maybe in the minority but will try to keep the faith.
